My doctor put me back on another antidepressant. I asked her to because I was afraid that I would keep not going to work. I don't know if depression is the reason why I don't go to work sometimes. But I have been a little depressed and maybe this will help. I just don't want to lose my job. Maybe I will start to live my life in color now. Maybe. I just hope that I don't stop FEELING the good things. I guess I'll see.

about four weeks for the med to get into our systems

About 2-3 weeks to get into your system and then about 1-2 months (maybe 3) to even know if the medicine is doing any good or if you might need to try something else.

I have been on my new medicine for 3 weeks now and I am starting to feel a big difference, for the better.

Good luck....

Probably a week or two.... then the new medicine should kick in about the time the old medicine leaves your system.

That's a little trickier. For a med that has only been taken a short while - maybe a couple months - and depending on the med it wouldn't take long for it to be out of the system.

HOWEVER, for meds that have been taken a long time (in my case Zoloft & Depakote for 15 years) they have to be stopped gradually over a period of time because the brain has gotten used to them. Also there's a thing called "half lives" to drugs. I've seen some charts and posts on this but if I understand it correctly, say I take one dose of Zoloft, then the next day take another - according the half lives, I don't just have 2 dosages in my system but it multiplies somehow.
