Anyway my pdoc prescribed Topamax (not sure I spelled that right) because I am literally waking up every night for the past month and being hungry all the time. He said It's also supposed to help out with my mood because my mood has been fine one minute and the next it just bottoms out. Any comments or words of advice are greatly appreciated

Well I can't know what your experience might be, considering your dx and other meds... but I'm sure one of the pharm guys here can.

I think topomax has been discussed by members here...try and Advanced Search (upper right on page) and see what threads come up.

I take Topamax. I like it. It really works well for me as a mood stabilizer. I even like it better because I lost 25 pounds a few months after I started taking it. I no longer binge eat like I used to.
Zyprexa is a big weight gainer. I tried it very briefly and gained 15 pounds in a few weeks. I since switched to Abilify.
I just love my Topamax. I started it almost exactly 1 year ago. I am so much more stable and I am 40 pounds lighter.

I was on Topomax briefly. It destroyed my appetite (not a bad thing at all!), but did zilch for my mood.
