My doctor is thinking about adding Remeron to my list of medications and I was wondering if anyone has been on it before or is currently and has any experiences that they can share with me.

Thanks

I take 15 mgs at night.

It does help me fall asleep, but I am not quite sure it as really helped with the depression. Although, Has Anyone Tried Remeron getting to sleep does help with the depression in the long run..........right? Has Anyone Tried Remeron

Good luck!

I took it a while and it helped me fall asleep, but also left me with a 'hangover' effect the next morning.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I am really hesitate to try it but then again I think really what have I got to lose. I have been on so many different meds and none have worked so far that's why I think why not at least give it a shot. I am just concerned as I read about how it gives a person the cravings for sweets and really knocks you out at night.

Anyway, who knows maybe this one will finally work??? Thanks again for your replies Has Anyone Tried Remeron

Remember, medications work differently for each of us, so your experience will be your own, and hopefully it will be just what you need!

Good luck!

I also had very vivid dreams while on remeron, plus was dreaming vividly while semi-awake/trying to wake up in the morning.
Remeron will make you very sleepy-I read online it's because remeron hits the histamine receptors, so it's like taking super benedryl. But, I wasn't depressed Has Anyone Tried Remeron
Good luck!

Thanks again for everyones replies Has Anyone Tried Remeron

I honestly could handle the vivid dreams and almost anything else if the med actually lifted the depression and worked. I am tired of trying different meds and having them not work Has Anyone Tried Remeron

I had several people tell me how this would knock you out but I took it about an hour before bed time and stared at the ceiling all night. after a week I stopped. Family Doc had given me samples so at least I wasn't out any thing.

Thanks for your response So_It_Goes. I don't know when I will be starting the Remeron as I am still waiting to do blood work first before I we (doc and I) do any med switches but it was great to hear from so many people about their experiences.

Thanks again Has Anyone Tried Remeron

I heard about the appetite increase and the weight gain and am really, really nervous about that. I am on Topamax also which will hopefully counter-act the Remeron but with all these meds....who knows? I just hope that I can find a med that finally works for the depression. Discouragement is really setting in Has Anyone Tried Remeron

I started taking Remeron yesterday. I was totally knocked out by a 15mg tablet ! I am worried about weight gain and increased appetite though. I am also worried abut my sex drive being completely switched off as it was when I took fluoxetine (Prozac).
I can put up with a little extra weight if the depression lifts, and the sleep is a real bonus, I have suffered with terrible insomnia, I felt like I'd had a general anaesthetic last night !
