I have just been recently diagnosed as having adult ADD about Oct or Sept of '04. I am currently attending a local college and am doing well. I am taking 20 mg of Adderall XR to increase my focus on school and reduce my impulsiveness. Though I am only 22 mentally on some days I feel like a teenager. Meaning oversensitivity, some what of lacking self confidence, over analyzing the simple stuff, when it comes to decision making having to ask for opinions, making wrong/stupid decisions, etc. Why do I feel(on some occasions) I can't grow up mentally? Are these adverse affects of Adderall XR? I can clearly see a difference when it comes to focusing and some change with some impulses. This has driven me, my boyfriend, and classmates crazy. Can anyone help?

I'll be interested to see other people's responses to this as well. I just got put on adderall but my insurance doesn't cover the XR so I just take one in the morning and another one about noon. I also only take it when I'm in school or need to study. I'm 35 and find that I feel like I'm still a teenager but think its due to one of my other diagnosis.

I've been on Adderall XR for over a year now. I also take Prozac and recently Wellbutrin but my anxiety and obsessiveness went through the roof.

So, as of today no more Wellbutrin. I may have to go off Adderall too to see if my obsessiveness is a result of stimulants. Good question you raised. I'll let you know if I go off and if anything changes...
