hubby has decided to stop taking his meds without consulting the doctor, he feels he has been let down by his cpn who is meant to refer him to a new one but was away for tree weeks and didnt even tell him. his support worker said he would phone oh yes he did left a message to say he had as hubby was out , that was over a week ago
i have mentioned to hubby that stopping meds with out consulting a doc could be dangerous, let alone how his moods are going to go up and down expecting a rough time

Please don't stop your meds Dec, if you're reading this. Thanks for posting Katheryn.

Living in the UK too stopped taking meds I understand anger at the "Health........ Service" and I too have done some unwise things due to feeling completely uncared about and victimised by these people.

Stopping meds can be dangerous. Please consult a doctor about this....... I am not the most compliant "patient" myself but I am on regular meds and they do help me function better than I would otherwise.... and sometimes they just keep me around on the planet when things are really bad stopped taking meds stopped taking meds

(((((((((( Dec and Katheryn ))))))))))

Please take care and be safe,
Fuzzy

Dear Katheryn,
I'd like to be supportive. I don't know how, though. I'd just like to send some supportive thoughts your way.
I think that some meds work better than others, and I've found it really hard advocate on my own behalf when I've been in such incredible pain from mental illness. It's easier to self-educate now, though, about meds, because there's a lot of good-quality information on the internet, on reputable sites. I'm sure that meds help me keep my job and my house, and help keep me alive, but my son is the #1 reason I'm alive still.

Good luck! Thinking about you!

Katheryn, Seems like you are in a tight spot. You can't force your hubby to take his meds--you can just encourage him. Please try to help him get to a doc as soon as possible. Sorry, I don't have many answers--all this you know. Try to hang in there and know that you are not alone. My boyfriend was unmedicated for a long time and he is just now seeing a pdoc and working on it.
