An aversive stimulus is one that repels you, one that you want to withdraw from. One of the most commonly mentioned disturbances in taste arises with carbonated beverages, e.g. soda. Soda water, just plain unflavoured carbonated water, tasted of spoiled pineapple, with a metallic overtone, when I used Topamax. As far as I know, the taste disturbance does not subside.
I had similar nauseating response to some aromas, as you describe. Lar |

Me too... unbelievably sickening smells and tastes.. and it was all created in the brain because I lost my sense of smell and taste (and hearing mostly) from the injury. . . plus I would smell these gross things when I was no where near anything at all... gross or not. This med is nasty to those who it doesn't work for... nasty. From what my pharmacist says, either it's good or its bad for you.. no inbetween... And this was a mild side effect to the other stuff I experienced.
