I am wondering if anyone had these effects from taking buspar..... I only took it for 3 weeks and I stopped taking due to having severe dizziness. I stopped it almost 2 weeks ago and I am still having dizziness when I lay down or when I sit up after laying down. If I look up for a long time I also get dizzy.

If anyone has had this how long did it take to go away?

Thanks for any help.

Is it getting better gradually? I came off meds w/o help from my pdoc (bad move) and had motion sickness from just moving around for probably over 2 weeks, but I could tell it was getting better gradually.

Hi sunflower, how much buspar were you taking? I am on 30 mg/day total in two doses. I had quite a bit of dizziness the first week or two, accompanied by a "staggery" feeling about 30 minutes after each dose that lasted for an hour or more. The worst dizziness passed after a week. I have been on it for 3 months, and now, at most, I feel a tingly sensation below the waist and through my legs a half hour after use. Sometimes a little staggery. But that's all. Unfortunately, all the good effects have lessened too. buspar dizziness Since you are still feeling dizzy even after stopping the drug, I think it would be good to consult with your doctor.

I found that it had a tendency to overshoot then drop and gradually come back up to a workable level..

It was during that initial overshoot that I had problems...I moved to another medicine...so never had a chanced to see if it would go away...
