I took trazodone, remeron, clonidine, and melatonin four hours ago and have been trying to rest/sleep but swear I'm ready to run a marathon still.

Did I break my brain or something? Even Zyprexa didn't help me sleep (I just paced for hours and then I don't really remember what happened but three guards came in my hospital room a while later. I don't even know what happened I just remember they were all really friggin close to me).

Have you tried Atarax? It's an antihistamine, sometimes it can help with sleep as it's a non-antipsychotic and non-benzodiazapine...and you DO NOT build up a tolerance to it!

Yeah. They gave me that in the ER for going three nights no sleep and I went home and fell asleep for 30 minutes many hours later after giving up and having like four cups of coffee to get ready for the day. They used to try to give it to me for anxiety but it wouldn't even quell the anxiety let alone put me to sleep.

At this point, a psych hospital stint in diaper/restraints/the seclusion room is most sedating for me! No med or supplement or caffeine cut does it consistently.

That's what it took the last time I went psycho!!

Dayvigo and medications in its class. Did not work for me, but as you know, your mileage will always vary. Ask for it.

If Zyprexa did not help you sleep, then the next step among antipsychotics is to try Clozapine. This requires a blood draw before the medication can be administered, to ensure you have a healthy WBC.

I have experience with severe insomnia. About 100 mg of amitriptyline opened the sleep window for me. Also, Seroquel ended a prolonged period of sleeplessness..

Plus one on amitriptyline for that, and that it is a weight gaining medication should be a concern for you, Muddy Boots.

Seroquel made me gain weight so that wasn't going to work. I tried edibles and lorazepam and that sort of helped. I still can't stay asleep all night.

Edibles used to help me, but they don't anymore. At any rate, while Muddy is confined to the hospital, they are not an option. Later, maybe.

I'm not really confined to the hospital (am not able to post from there) but just at risk of being sent there (and drug tested) pretty much any and every day.
The great thing is I did smoke weed the night before (I did another thing too) I last wound up in the ER and nothing showed up

My pdoc increased my Seroquel XR dose to 150mg and added 100mg IR as a PRN. I'm not super worried about weight gain since I'm stuck to a limited diet right now and it's hard to gain weight on broth, crackers, and instant breakfast hot chocolates when a few bites of anything has me full for 6 hours and then vomiting.
