I started taking Risperdal in mid January 2008 for psychosis. Okay, everything was fine, it didn't make me tired, didn't make me feel bad or anything like Seroquel did.
The only side effects that I noticed was weight gain, then later on low blood pressure and the weirdest: I couldn't walk much. I noticed this in mid February. I had to work hard to keep up with my friends when we were walking out in the town. And it was a regular pace, I swear, I have always been able to keep up with them. Excercise was definitely out of question. It was torture, even a mile long walk was too much. I hadn't even gone halfway and I was already panting like I had run five miles. I thought it was because I had gained weight, but when I had run out of Risperdal and then forgotten to take it for five consecutive days and took a walk, I was able to do much more. Anyone experienced this, or does anyone have an explanation for this phenomenon? Does it even have a name? ![]()

This is taken directly from the drugs section of Psych Central....
Risperdal Possible Side Effects This medicine can cause the following side effects: constipation dizziness drowsiness dry mouth headache weight gain restlessness mild thirst frequent urination drowsiness fine hand tremor mild nausea Check with your doctor AS SOON AS POSSIBLE if you experience diarrhea, vomiting, unsteadiness, difficulty walking, or unusual muscle weakness. This medicine may increase blood sugar (hyperglycemia). Diabetic patients should be cautious of this and regularly check their blood sugar. Maybe you could have your pharmacist inform the doctor of this side effect?

Ahh serafimetal, I've never seen that when looking for info on Risperdal. Maybe I just quickly glanced the stuff through. I'm gonna have to try to tell my T again (now that I have proof! hehe) and if not, pharmacist like you suggested.
Thanks to both of you!
