why are you taking synthroid? Is it as a supplement or has your thyroid been removed/died?

I guess you should never just stop taking any meds, especially if you do need that prescription everyday.
That same thing happened to me once and I just called my pharmacy and they gave me a few pills till my doc could call in a new prescription.

I stopped taking my pills for two days and felt extremely tired, so be careful.

The smooth control of thyroid hormone levels that physicians achieve by using pure thyroxine preparations is due to the slow rate at which thyroxine is used up by the body. In fact, if a normal person's thyroid suddenly stopped working, it would take about seven days for the body to use up just half of the T4 already in the blood. Therefore, if you are hypothyroid and taking thyroxine tablets to correct your thyroid deficiency, you will not feel suddenly sick even if you stop your thyroxine tablets abruptly. Furthermore, because you won't notice a sudden change in the way you feel, you may incorrectly assume that your thyroid condition no longer exists and you may stop taking your medication entirely. Unfortunately, when your hypothyroidism does recur, its onset may be so gradual that you may not realize that you are becoming ill again until your symptoms are pronounced.

Basically anything that can occur when thyroid hormone levels are low can happen. This includes but is not limited to:

Depression
Fatigue
Dry skin
Coarse hair
Weight gain
Feeling cold

Thyroid hormone is one of the most important hormones in the body because it basically controls the other hormones. I would not suggest stopping it. Please google the following TSH or T4 and read about the power of the thyroid on the human body.

lets see.... fatigue and feeling cold is me. I know i know, i need to get back on it. I am on it for an underactive thyroid, my levels were low, but just low enough that im on the lowest dosage of the synthroid.
