Hi I have recently been started on Celexa and don't know much about it and was hoping there are some people that can tell me some personal experience with the medicine. I was also started on Seroquel and I think it's helping, I have been on this medication before and find that it helps me. So if you can tell me more about Celexa that would be GREAT!!

that was my first try at an SSRI and my body hated it. Unfort after 4 days I had to get off, i dont think it was an allergic reaction, but more like it just didnt work with the chemistry of my body.

I'm on Celexa as well as Effexor. The celexa helped pull me out of a really deep depression that hospitalized me last summer. It seems like I need a combo of two anti-D;s to work. I didn't notice any real side effects with the celexa - but I was kinda out of it at the time I started taking it. The only thing I've noticed is that since I've been on it my skin's been oilier than normal.

Hope it works for you.

When I was on celexa, it was a godsend for me. I had no side affects from it and it made me feel the absolute best I had felt since I was a kid. Before the celexa I had been on paxil which left me extremely flat with no emotion whatsoever. While it may have been good for me to be like that for awhile, I soon realized that I was nothing when I was on it...so when the dr changed me to celexa, I was in heaven! I hope you find it works well for you whos on celexa?

I just recently got diagnosed Bipolar II, but 2 years ago, I think the Celexa is what pushed me into my first manic episode.

Other than that, I don't remember any bad side effects.

And based on your other thread about Lamictal - I would guess that your side effects are probably related to either the Seroquel or the Celexa, not the Lamictal. Unless it's "the rash" - otherwise, Lamictal usually has very few side effects compared to the other meds you are on.

Hope you get the right combination soon to feel better!

I switched from 10 mil of Lexapro to 20 mil of Celexa....seems to be the same, though I have read it would take a 40 mil tab of Celexa to equal 10 mil of Lexapro
