I was put on psychatric drugs at age 4. After 18 years of drug abuse, I managed to get clean.
I was wondering if anyone new any (no official studies have been conducted of course) long-terms effects of Wellbutron SR and Paxil/Celexa/Lexapro. I was on those for more than a decade plus thruought my teenage years. Any insights onto how this can effect one's health or brain chemcial levels, would be extremely helpful. Websites even better, thanks. |

Wycelf - I do know that there are several longterm studies involving Prozac™ (fluoxetine), that have shown (so far), no obvious adverse health effects. I am not aware of any involving other SSRIs, but I am sure that there are some in progress. I have not had any brought to my attention recently.
A few years ago I did read a few sudies involving the longterm use of the older tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs) like Elavil™ (amitriptyline) and Tofranil™ (imipramine). These antidepressants have been on the market since the late 1950s. Generally, there have been no remarkable problems associated with the longterm use of these agents. Sorry that I am not of much help on this. - Cam |
