I don't have a therapy appointment for 6 weeks all because I missed an appointment. Now I have to wait 6 weeks!!!

I can't wait that long... things are bad!!! My dissociation is really really really bad, I don't think my Lexapro or Risrperdal is working,
and I am having all kinds of urges, God I hope someone cancels their appointment and I get a call to come in!!!

Is this your first appt with a new T? If it is, is there a different T that you could go to who could see you sooner?

6 weeks is a long time to wait when you need help now.

I do remember you saying this was a new T, Manda, so could you call up others who aren't so booked up and find someone to see you sooner. You have no relationship with this T that you have to wait so long to see, so maybe just start with someone who can see you now.

As for your meds, if they are not working, call your prescriber right away and tell them! You have an ongoing relationship with your prescriber, so they could probably see you soon and help with the meds. And maybe that would tide you over until you can start therapy.

yes, when i was first referred to someone (a pdoc) she was booked out for 6 months (AND had a waiting list!!). way too long for me to wait, so i went back to my GP who referred me, and got them to call around and find someone who could see me the following week, because i knew i could not cope much longer.

please do try to hunt around. i dont want you to be left without much-needed support for 6 weeks either.

yes and I don't know

The main reason I was excited I was gonna to see this one was because they said she was VERY open-minded
about religion and stuff, and since I am Pagan...

You could call around and ask....you might be surprised. My T is very involved in his church, but he is also extremely open and accepting of other religions, lifestyles, etc...

Well that is probably why she is booked out 6 weeks is because she is good and everyone wants to see her and no one is dropping her. In a way that is a good sign. Though also my T said all T's are getting bogged down with clients because of the economy and she said she can't even accept new clients anymore.

Your prescriber really needs to know that the drugs aren't working. If they are any good at all they will want to work on your symptoms.

Grrr about the wait time for T! I would ask for a referral to someone who can see you in the meantime. A good T won't judge your religious choices.
