Okay, I see. That is how it has happened in the past.
We never know when the very next time it might be a different experience, sometimes slightly different, sometimes very different. If you can, be open to it being okay, to sharing and having it go well. |

This sounds like a horrible awful difficult time. As the survivor of a major disaster who lost a loved one in that same disaster, I can relate. Please remember that you are not alone, that as odd as it sounds you will make it through this, and that someday you will be okay, even if it's not okay yet.

Good to hear he's okay! In your life this is the big issue at the moment, so I still get how important this is. I can't bring myself to watch much news about Japan right now, but I can see this isn't just a little deal. Hang in there, keep trusting in your T!

My brother and family lives in Japan and have had word they are ok. They know little about many friends and families. I want to say thank you to your son for his willingness to go and help people who are in dire straights. I visited Japan and when they saw I was an American, they could not do enough for me.They went out of their way to make sure I had everything and anything I could possibly need. My heart breaks for what they are going through. Tell your son my family says Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Granite1,
Having worked in 2 rescue missions myself, the Indonesian Tsunami of 2004 for one, it is a difficult but very rewarding experience to be able to help those that really need the help at the time. I would never give up those experiences for nothing at all. Your son will be providing some very well needed assistance. Even by just delivering water to those who don't have it is more than what they have now. You should be very proud of him. He is doing great things. It sounds as if you have raised a wonderful young man if he is willing to do this. He knows that he always has your support, so that will help him if he needs some strength. Nannypat, Prayers for your family. A

You have every right to be concerned for his safety. You are his mom and you love him dearly. One of my sons is a police officer and the other an EMT first responder. I worry about them too, but they are doing what they love doing. I pray everyday for their safety and I will keep your son in my prayers too.The world needs sons like ours, but it makes it hard on us moms. Be proud of him, but don't blame yourself for being a bit afraid. I think it is normal.
