Things I would change are not unlike what others have said. I'd definitely change out the fluorescent overheads to one or two tall, glowing lamps. I think that would actually have huge effect on how I feel in there (more safe and relaxed), not just the overall aesthetic.

If not the lights, then the couch. She has a very luxurious, soft love seat in there right now, which I do like. But sometimes I wish it were one of those classic, psychoanalytic fainting couches so that I could completely lay down and regress a little. Might as well throw in a Persian carpet while I'm at it.

The chairs are slick leather not soft, and nothing is soft in the room. I would like it warmer and some cushions and something soft. Room reminds me of motel room or showroom at furniture store. It's one of many rooms at a clinic. Think they just had it redone. Recognize furniture from American Furniture Warehouse. One time we used another room. Realky liked it because soft couch and cchair with cushions and is actually same couch my bfriend bought. Even same cushions.

Actually nothing. The lighting is fine, sofa is comfortable, stuff on the walls is cool. OH, wait, I'd install air-conditioning because it's an upper floor office that gets unbelievably hot in the summer

I think I like it the way it is as well. Maybe get more lamps; it gets a bit dark in there when it's late.

Preferably though, I'd have her move to a different office that isn't a 40 minute commute away from my home.

I would just turn my chair around so i could sit on it backwards. My back would be in a corner of the room and the back of the chair would be between me and everything else in the room. I think about this every time I go there, im like i wish i could turn my chair around, i don't know why

The decor of my T's office is OK. Nothing to complain about there.

But I would LOVE it if he cleaned off his g*****n desk. It's got little knick knack-y things that just.....it gets under my skin. And I wish he'd hang up his jacket. It's always haphazardly tossed onto one of the chairs that's off to the side.

Oh, and I'd love it if he got a stupid box of Kleenex. I don't see myself needing any in the near future but still. Your a T, aren't you supposed to have a box of Kleenex on the table? We went from a box of Kleenex to an almost empty roll of toilet paper.....*ahem!*....I mean, roll of tissue, to a candle. WTF? And it always smells like a Stouffers microwave dinner in there. *Barf*. That needs to go. STAT.

My therapist is the only thing I would change.

I wouldn't change anything. It's kind of perfect. The lighting, the size, the chairs, and the smell too! (It's really subtle but I like it, I keep trying to figure what plug-in air freshener she has.. )

I'd just like to be sat in there with her more often! Sometimes therapy is the only thing I feel I can cling to, and a week between appointments can seem like a long time.

ok so if i can only pick one and there has to be consensus inside on that single item to change... i'd get a button installed on the arm of the chair saying PRESS NOW TO ESCAPE. and it could just teleport me away. so much easier than trying to make a break for the door

Laughing. So. So. Hard.

For me, I would change the couch. It's too squishy and sits too low.

I would get rid of this weird felt wall chart thing. It is obviously meant for the children who come to see her and it has this little colored felt characters that fit in these pockets with different feelings written on them. There is nothing bad about it, just distracting. I think because it is directly opposite me and due to it's bright colors, it stands out compared all the neutral colored things in the room. I should be focusing on T not some stupid felt characters with feelings on them.

Really? Would be so much easier for me to read too- sometimes I'll just stare at it trying to figure out what time it really is. The stress lessens my ability to think about the simple things, lol

I would get rid of all the chairs in her office so she would have to sit next to me on the sofa.

I would take away all the other people who work there. They are distracting when I can hear them in the hallway.

LOL the man cave smell is so gross! But it reminded me of a time I showed up and the guy before me was leaving, my t waited for him to leave and whispered, "i need to air my office out, just wait a few minutes".
His office is so ugly, but I don't care. The only thing I would change is the clock position, it is right in my view and I get distracted watching it.
