No peppermint or red raspberry?

Decisions, decisions...
I avoid green, black and white tea in the evenings because of the caffeine. I'm having trouble enough sleeping since I was taken off one of my meds a couple of months ago. Herbal infusions in the evenings for me - chamomile or, if I can get hold of it, St John's Wort. I don't particularly like fruit-flavoured or flowery teas. Spicy is nice, though.

I had coffee at 9pm last night, which was just stupid of me... I had heart palpitations until I went to bed at midnight!

Time for morning tea now, I think. H is still sleeping.

I can understand how that would be really scary, granite. Try not to scratch the place any more - not because it is dangerous to do so (it isn't), but because scratching can make the skin more red and swollen, which in itself is scary.

Wash the site of the bite. Cold water can soothe the skin.

The risk of getting Lyme disease from a deer tick is smaller than 1.5% in the United States, so there is a very small risk that you have contracted it. Still, you should of course keep an eye on the site. It takes a while (one to three days) for the signs of infection to develop, so any physical symtoms you feel right now are not signs that the tick was an infection carrier.

However, you should phone a health care provider to ask for advice when they open - it's always a good idea to get information from the professionals in this kind of situation. At least for me, it does a lot to calm me down.
Thanks for this!

Granite-I think deer ticks don't cause lyme disease all that often. Just keep an eye on where it bite you.

Whats on everyone's agenda today? All sunshine here in NJ going up to near 80. I wanna go walk on the beach but my car won't make the hour drive as my transmission is dying. May have to just settle to drive to the nearest park on go on a hike.

Granite - tics are never fun to deal with :-( I work in a nature park and one of our employees found one on her leg in April. That's really early for this region. Now I am paranoid every time I go outside at work.

Time for me to get off the couch. Laundry to hang outside and half the lawn to mow. A trip to the yard waste recycling place - that place is nutso on Saturdays. Then I am off to enjoy the afternoon - a drive to the beach (it's Lake MI, so no swimming yet) and then to my favorite food run for eggs, cheese, and mango tea.

Am on the bus on my way to a colleague's place for dinner. Last time we were going, she had to cancel so I'm very happy it's happening now.

I got bitten by what at first I thought was a ladybug, only it was more round and brown and it HURT, ladybugs aren't usually so RUDE. Ticks aren't usually that huge, right? They're tiny, like poppy seeds? I still have a little scar from it, and it was after that I got that bronchitis that I am still coughing a little from. I can be a bit of a hYpochondriac.

Morning all. Slept in this morning, but now that I am up, I need to be busy. Need to make my mom her mother's day gift (I'll design and make a necklace of some sort). Also need to work on my policy manuals from work. I was given full admin status of our website yesterday, and I don't understand much of the content management system. I need to pay bills. I think the bills are going to be more than the money, so I feel right now.

I figure I'll break it all up into 30-45 minute blocks so I won't get too bored. I have a short attention span!

Have a great day!!

It's a Japanese beetle that is horrible and rude as a species. And they smell awful when you squish them. I hate hate hate them. They bite my horses as well.

Waiting...waiting...waiting....my cousin was supposed to come over with her truck at 10am to help me move my giant pile of weeds. It's now 11:30. She left me some message about needing to get her shopping list done before she could get here and it might be noon.... just a little frustrated right now. I want to go to the beach dang it! I would have been better off making two trips in my car.

I agree with Granite, as I was (ok still am) intimidated by yoga. There are many classes out there for non-yoga people (like me, and perhaps you too) that are doable though.

Start small, but give it a try. I find that I feel a bit better when I do it, even if it's just a 30 min session.

Just had some yummy green curry, which was a nice antidote to all of the swearing I did at the damned Ikea lamp I spent 45 minutes putting together.

There's a Simpsons episode, where Homer is trying to put together a BBQ pit. When he's done, there's a close-up of this beautifully constructed pit, which then pans out to show that Homer is holding the box with the picture of what it's supposed to look like while lamenting his own creation.

When I thought I was finished with the lamp, I had the exact same thought, "Oh, why doesn't mine look like the picture?" The answer was because I had done it totally wrong and had to start all over.

Green curry sounds really good right about now...except I'd have to drive 30 minutes to get any. Homemade veggie pizza here.

All this talk about tea on this thread must have affected me while I was shopping today. I came home with Mango Ceylon black tea, Vanilla Rooibos, Tazo Passion, and plain green to mix with the mint in my garden. Drinking some of the mango iced right now.

Was involved in a very interesting conversation on Facebook today. Sounds like a bad joke:

A fundamental Christian, a liberal Christian (me), and a Buddhist walk into a bar...

I found out I have more in common with the Buddhist than my fellow Christian...

*Disclaimer*
No offense to any fundamental Christians. I am respectful of all beliefs.

Just a general question.

Are we suppose to use "trigger" warnings on the couch?

I ask cause I mention alcohol in some of my posts on the couch.

I have not left the house for a couple of days and have disconnected the phones etc. I just don't want to deal with real people right now. I have sent the dogs off with a friend. I have consumed a lot of tea and tea like liquids. Which does help get me out of bed. Tea is a miracle drink.

that is me most every weekend. that's a lot of people on pc's everyday life, from what I read. not saying good or bad or indifferent, just saying. except for the tea. yuck! I have to be in the right mood to drink tea! that is sometimes the source of my gender dysphoria - what real woman doesn't like tea?!
