Back from therapy, feeling so much better tonight too. I forget just how understanding she actually is. She encourages me to write my feelings and thoughts out throughout the week and email them to her. She even understood when I told her that I really need her to help structure the therapy with me, I can't just go in blind because then I'll not get anything done. So we're working on goals, she thinks me working on the social anxiety primarily will be the most important thing, then a few other things on the side but whenever they come up. (Learning to accept emotions and learning how to handle them instead of detaching, learning to not be dependent on others emotionally but rather enjoy the give and takes of relationships/friendships, etc).

Productive day overall and I'm glad. She's also very sensitive and wants us to work together when things get rough, and if we hit a topic I can't talk about right then and there, we can move on to a different topic together.

My homework for the week is to identify as many personal triggers as I can, especially for my anxiety. This will be a very hard week but hopefully helpful. Thank you everyone for your support. <3 I appreciate it (and my therapist is glad that I'm reaching out to others for support too and that I've found people online I can relate to and talk to comfortably!)

Sila, I'm so glad your session went well.

Good night everyone. I guess I'll turn out the light when I'm done (or collapse from my meds ).

LOL - I just caught that! hopefully it cancels out missdell's cat reading that book of military strategies? "guns into plowshares"? I mean, I know some people treat their pets like children, but I would hate to be a fly on the wall in THIS Bible class! go back to bed, hankster...

Hello Everyone...

Hugs to all.

Woke up extremely angry today but now I have exactly 20 minutes to put that aside. Going to deep breathe on my to work in hopes it diminishes some.

See you later friends.

This caused me to wake up laughing. I tend to do the opposite. From fear of forgetting to place a comma, I use too many. English must be so confusing. Just be thankful that you don't have to learn the English system of measurement. Have any of you ever read the book "Eats, Shoots and Leaves"? I know it may sound contradictory, but it is a humerus book about punctuation.

Apt - I hope it's okay to put this here. I read another thread and you mentioned the word biweekly. Biweekly only means every other week. It's just a word people will sometimes use wrong.
Thanks for this!

haha. I wrote that quickly before I left. Guess it would be better with another comma in there.

No, the word has both meanings, which is admittedly very confusing. The "twice a week" usage is older, but the "every second week" usage is more common in the United States.

Artemis, I'm so sorry about your T! I'll go try to find your thread later.

Jersey, hope the anger subsides.

Sorry to make the wrong correction and I must admit that now I'm confused. I had to look it up in my dictionary, and saw both meanings. Now I'm going to go look up the prefix semi. Stopdog - I may have one of your kind of days looking up words in the dictionary.

MKAC - I know the feeling of thinking you're not going to get a good nights sleep again. I haven't slept more then two or three hours in the last couple of nights. That's with me taking melatonin and benadryl. I hope you can get some sleep this evening.

Sconnie - Good luck with the prep today, and the event this evening.

Morning Lola.

I'm so sorry to hear the the education system has failed your daughter. This is ridiculous, maddening, and sad. If you think it is bad from the outside, you should see it from the inside. It has its good parts/teachers, etc., but a part of the system is corrupt and just doesn't work. I hope it gets better, but with lack of funding it isn't looking promising. I hope you are able to find some kind of resolution within the school system. I just know what I read in this post, but if the Principal doesn't help you, move up the chain. Best of luck to you!

No need to apologise - I hope I didn't come across as too much of a know-it-all. ("I'm not a knowitall, I'm a knowitsome!" - can't remember where that quote's from, though...) The Oxford English Dictionary is my bestest friend
