I'm so tired today. I have no energy at all. I have a couple of things I have to do for work - though I don't need to go to the office for them. H wants me to go buy a birthday present (which means a bus trip into town, some panicked wandering around trying to come up with something good, and a bus trip back on a crowded bus), and to write to the person with the birthday asking if I can come to his party (I had RSVPd no because I was going to be away for the weekend, and H was going by himself, but now that I'm going to be home H assumes that I want to go to the party, and I suppose he would feel silly going without me if I'm home). And I should go into town anyway to buy tea and bread and stuff. But I'm so tired, and I don't want to do anything. And I know that if I do force myself to do the things I have to, I am not going to feel better afterwards - but if I don't do them I'll feel worse. I hate myself sometimes. And I hate this feeling of being too overwhelmed with tiredness even to pick up a piece of paper that's fallen to the floor.

Hello Everyone. I slept last night from like 8:30 pm to 6am. I think I needed that in major ways.

Off to work in a few minutes. Give me strength after yesterday.

Lola I don't know about anyone else, but I have not seen CE since Chopin crossed oceans to punch him. lol.

I also have not seen SD in a few days?

Well..Off I go...see you at nap time friends.

Good morning couch friends.

Artemis - I hope your husband has a quick recovery and that your supervisor is understanding.
Apt
Hi Lola and Jersey and anyone else awake on the couch.

I am wearing a new to me sweater today. A really nice Royal Robbins cardigan I picked up at a thrift store for $4. The receptionist and I have competitions about who can get the best clothing deals at thrift stores or we have days where we try to have entire outfits from thrift stores (with a few exceptions - you just don't buy used underwear.)

Ha! found a picture of it online so it's not too old either

Sorry - I don't know why I am so excited about wearing a sweater. I must be exhausted from yesterday and little things make me happy when event exhaustion sets in.

I hope no one takes offense at this. It made me laugh. I eat lots of nuts for snacks.

CE commented on my post from yesterday. Maybe he's in a lurking mood. I think we all get that way from time to time.

Artemis, I'm sorry to hear about your H.

Apt, I really empathize with how you are feeling about the party and going into town.

I need to get my booty out of bed and get to work. Can't be late to meet my snaky coworker.

My H did not get the promotion.

Life goes on. Last day of work before 9 days off!!! But the first couple of days, we'll be hosting hurricane Sandy...fun...not.

Artemis, so sorry about your husband! It's good you guys caught it in time.

Apt, hope your energy improves. I am currently sucking down the caffeine hoping to get myself up and off to work. I've been awake since 4, but just lying in bed cuddling with the dogs and cats.

Well, I know I gripe constantly about H, but he's really a very wonderful guy - he phoned me to ask if I had any ideas for a gift, and said that if I didn't he'd go buy something. And he'd already bought tea and bread so I got to spend the day at home and recharge my mental batteries a bit. Am feeling much better now. The party is tomorrow - I emailed and asked if there's room for me as well, and was told there will be, and right now I'm actually really looking forward to it. And on Sunday, my mother and I are going to the cinema, which is something I almost never do. So that will be fun as well. [we're going to see the French movie Intouchables: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Intouchables ]

Howzabout you? What's your weekend plans look like?

Well Sunday my youngest is coming to town and we are going to all go Vote... then we are picking up sushi and headed home to watch Football... As for tonight and tomorrow, I was informed I have to clean at some point ...but I see a movie and dinner in my future. There is a local Italian restaurant here in town and on Fridays and Saturdays older couples go and dance to Italian music while they have dinner....I love that and I think we are going to go , just to watch...as if Partner and I jumped on the dance floor I think 3/4 of the restaurant would go into cardiac arrest....LOL

Hey couch peeps.....trying to keep up, but I'm just exhausted.

Didn't sleep well at all last night and feel like a zombie today. Still not feeling well - and one of my events is tonight (from 2 AM to 6 AM) which means that I am not going to get any sleep until tomorrow morning. *sigh*

My plan was to rest up today, try to sleep, so that I can strengthen my immune system which is currently compromised from being ill - so I can handle the events this weekend. That changed when my daughter missed school today cuz of still feeling ill....my mom needing me for transportation purposes...and needing to pick up groceries because of the upcoming hurricane coming through and not having the staples in my house. So, my rest day is now ruined. Double *sigh*.

I am nervous about the upcoming hurricane. I have things on my deck and under my deck that I need to somehow get indoors...and I don't have the strength or energy to lift those things....like the grill, patio furniture, chairs, lawnmower, large filled pots, etc. Times like this make me wish I was still married so I could get some help.

Hoping this hurricane doesn't cause catastrophic damage here in NJ.

I'm sorry, MUE. That's a lot of legitimate concerns you have, especially about the hurricane. Do you have a neighbor who could help you move the furniture inside? I always find that weather problems brings neighbors closer because you have a common goal.

I'm sorry your daughter is still sick too.
Thanks for this!

I could possibly ask one neighbor in particular....but knowing me, I will find a way to do it myself....Luckily, I have a few days before the storm hits...and I'm hoping that it will ultimately be downgraded. The media has a way of promoting a worst-case scenario.

I hate having repair people in to fix anything... our hot water smells like sulfur ... i researched it and its from the hot water heater... called the company who put in our new hot water heater 6 months ago... for some reason they decided to chlorinate our well (we have well water) and we woke up this morning and we had no water pressure.

Now they are trying to say that something is wrong with the well tank... there was nothing wrong with the well tank before he messed with it...

I grew up with well water and we had to add salt to soften the water and it never smelled very good... I hope they get it fixed and its not a fortune. ((((RS))))))
