So now I'm wondering what happens for something like therapy in summer if you're wearing outdoor sandals (no stockings or socks)? That feels like the silliest question to be asking. Do you just have indoor sandals with you as well?

Enjoy the rest of your day too Apt.

I wear socks/stockings in outdoor sandals. Most people do unless they are on holiday, I would say. Stylishly dressed women might wear thin nylon-type stockings in open-top shoes, but bare feet are kind of... not taboo, but really frowned upon if you're not being extremely informal.

Mind you, I am no expert on this. I'm not particularly perceptive when it comes to clothing, or style, or things like that. Which also means that I'm a little shaky on exactly what you can and can't call a "sandal" in English
Thanks for this!

Apt, pardon the snooping, but I've read that the reason you couldn't "dream chat" is because you dream on the right side of your brain, and the logic (for me, I'm always misdialing a phone) is on the left side, and the dream can't jump across.

Hello everyone. Back to work today. I didnt move out of the house and off the couch all weekend except to take the dogs out. Looks like today, I have no choice. Gotta go to work.

Good morning, couch peeps!

Wiki - So glad to hear that your power is back on! Now you can really keep warm!

Heading back to the hospital today. Kinda nervous because my mom has a CAT scan this morning to see if they need to move the drain or insert another one. Last week when they did this, my mom was in tremendous pain in the process, even though they gave her a few local injections. I told the drs that they need to make sure she is more comfortable this time, because she is terrified to go back there because of the pain. I hope they follow through. I hate seeing my mom scared and in pain.

This migraine is taking its toll on me too....it's raining out, dang barometric pressure. I need to move to Arizona.

Woke up at 4:30am from another bad dream. This time I was back at the hospital having medical tests and they were giving me results for things I didn't even have tested. Maybe I should stop taking melatonin.Vivid dreaming is a side effect.

Hope you are all having a good day.

More crappy weather here. And snow predicted for my t day on Thursday. I am getting to that appointment come heck or high water...

Is being afraid to drive in high gusting winds, for an hour each way, reason enough for me to cancel an appt. with my Pdoc?

Karebear....if you truly believe that it's because of the bad weather and not because of wanting to run from pdoc, then sure!

Well mue, I really like my Pdoc. I don't think that I'm wanting to run from her. The weather is really kind of iffy. We've had rain and temps on the verge of freezing and winds that were so bad they kept me up most the night. Between the gusting (and really high gusting winds) the fact that the news said if you're traveling north or south (which I will be) to be very careful of the winds and the fact that the roads are wet and could become icy, I just don't think I have the courage to drive all the way out there. If the roads were dry I'd be less apt to worry, but even then the winds still scare me.

This is a hard decision for me to make. I feel like I should call as soon as the office opens in 10 minutes, that way it leaves a time slot for someone if they want to come in.

Karebear, an hour each way is far. I'd say if you are worried about the weather then do what you need to do as long as you have enough meds etc to get you thru till next time

I'm trying to call out of work today. I have not cancelled on them since I started with them a year ago, because I often have tuesdays off and more often than not, another 1/2 day during the week. But today I just don't have it in me. I texted her, so lets see what she says.

For CE: Apterygian sandals. I asked two colleagues, one Brit, one American, what they would call this kind of footwear, and they both immediately said "sandal".

Apt - I shall not hold dream technological snafus against you.
Do you wear those sandals (I would also identify them as such) in the winter? Or just indoors in the winter?

Quickly consulting http://www.dancesport.uk.com/shoes/conchart.htm ... I'm a size 43 which appears to be 9.5, U.S. men's sizes. I'm off this particular chart for U.S. women's sizes, but I'm thinking it must be 11
How peculiar to have the same sizes mean different things for men and women!
Thanks for this!

Only indoors in winter. In fact, this particular pair I only wear indoors, except for when I absent-mindedly forget to change shoes before going home.

The word for slippers in Swedish can also be used for indoor sandals, but not for outdoor sandals. It is all very strange.
