Well I've got a dilemma at work right now! Not sure how to handle it. It involves my supervisor and everyone on our team. Now, I love my sup, I think she's great and have never had any problem with her at all. However the rest of the team seem to all have something against her. She was off today, and it was kind of a slow day, so lots of folks were standing up talking back and forth over the cube walls you know how that goes. I couldn't believe everything I was hearing. I stayed out of it, I don't get involved in office gossip cr@p, been around too long to waste my energy on that. But it really was bothering me today that so many people seem to be out to get her. The things I heard them saying, to me anyway seemed totally taken out of context or just blown way out of proportion. I've never witnessed anything like they're saying. So I really don't know where it's coming from. My dilemma is I now know they are planning to take their complaints to HER manager. And I feel like I want to somehow warn her, you know, let her know what's going on, but I don't know if I should. Like I said I stay out of office scuttlebutt, so I don't know if by telling her anything at all I would just be as bad as the rest of them. I don't know what to do. Meh.

I would just stay out of it I think. I know you like her, but but if she is any kind of supervisor at all, she already knows her employees are unhappy.

Also, if these kinds of people will do this, behind her back, I think they could really make your life at work really bad if they found out you gave her a heads up. I wouldn't want that pack of hyenas circling me!

I completely understand the desire to protect someone who is being treated unfairly. It's a natural and human instinct of a good, empathetic person.

I suspect though your supervisor can take care of herself and be just fine.

Odds are, the employees were just blowing off steam and won't do anything anyway!

***Trigger Warning - Sad news***

Good Morning everyone.....

I received some bad medical news about my BFF's daughter... we knew since birth that she is medically fragile...but when drs tell you they don't know how she is alive, talking, walking, playing dolls, etc after doing a brain scan... that means they also can't tell you how long she will be like that... My friend and I have always referred to her as the miracle baby so this is just another confirmation of that...

trying to stay positive and be supportive but truely and worried and sad...

((granite)) good luck with the phone call.
Good morning Ready.
Art, maybe you can let the management know what's going on? Or take an opportunity to mention her value in the workplace to a manager? You're in a bind. I wouldn't know what to do either.

I have to go into Boston today. Ick. Really not looking forward to it. Not until later though, so that's good.

hate boston? Inconceivable!

Will you have to care for the mother? Because I vote you just stay put and let someone else help her.

When the girls were little my youngest Ami bought meat flavored god toothpaste for her puppy and she kept the toothpaste and his brush in the bathroom. The girls had a jack and Jill bathroom (they shared it between their rooms). The oldest came out one morning and asked why the toothpaste tasted like meat! We will never let her live that one down. Ewwww

omg...can I rant about a dead person? Just for a second?

My XBIL's obit is in the paper. Now, I have known this guy for 32 yrs. His new wife (of 3 yrs) wrote it. XBIL was a story teller....you know, always a story, always a laugh. None of them were true. He used to tell us about playing football at TX A&M....never even went there...anyhow....

His obit gives him a memorial flag and veteran's status. Dubs him as a Vietnam Vet. He did 2 yrs in the National Guard and got dishonorably discharged for smoking pot on base. Court Martial. I am appalled. I will let it go and not say anything... but WTF? Don't they check this stuff out? It gets me a bit pissed that a story teller could be given the honor of a vet. Weird. His poor kids, I am sure they know the truth.

Rant over....

OK...in fairness...he was a cool guy. Very funny. But he was a white collar drug addict. He was an urgent care nurse who siphoned the morphine for himself. Kudo's to him for getting clean and switching careers to counseling addicts. Awesome, good job...woot...all that. He is a hero for pulling his shambled life together for his kids and grandkids benefit and to extend his life long enough to give them good memories.

The memorial flag and metal on the obit ticks me off though.

OMG if they don't check these things out, I am going to start mine now...

LolaCabanna obit:

Lolacabanna was a former super model who spent her life travelling around the world helping people. After her invention of velcro, she bought a small island in the south pacific. She is survived by her 12 wives and 100's of children all of whom are also super models! She invites anyone with a sense of adventure to visit her island as the majority of her millions are buried there.

wow that is something. maybe it makes his wife feel better to hold on to these stories .but wow how strange for those who know the truth to be reading that.

Do we have to go thru the phone call list again???

(((Granite))) YOU CAN TALK ABOUT IT REGARDLESS! You can bi tch, gripe, etc. You don't have to call to gain that right.

My dog died during the night. She looked so peaceful this morning, I wasn't sure she was gone until I touched her. I was having trouble getting moving so I tried out a new recipe someone gave me, called Boozie Brownies. It has three layers, the bottom is a brownie, then a layer of creamy stuff -- butter, confectioner's sugar and Kahlua. You top that with a layer of melted chocolate chips, combined with button. I cannot imagine this is good for my health but it made me feel better emotionally to make it.
