The Malinois is my favorite and my new dog looks almost exactly like one, although the vet thinks she is German Shepherd, heeler cross.

I tried to add a photo of my dog, but it's huge. But, the photo above is exactly what she looks like.
Thanks for this!

MKAC - I am sure she is quite a handsome dog like the one in the photo.
The breed I am most attached to (and what I have) is a herding breed, but not much used in police work. I like the looks of the tervuren best out of the belgians because of the coat. Which would also be a drawback for some. But my dogs both have longer coats like that.

Verse For a Certain Dog by Dorothy Parker

Such glorious faith as fills your limpid eyes,
Dear little friend of mine, I never knew.
All-innocent are you, and yet all-wise.
(For Heaven's sake, stop worrying that shoe!)
You look about, and all you see is fair;
This mighty globe was made for you alone.
Of all the thunderous ages, you're the heir.
(Get off the pillow with that dirty bone!)

A skeptic world you face with steady gaze;
High in young pride you hold your noble head,
Gayly you meet the rush of roaring days.
(Must you eat puppy biscuit on the bed?)
Lancelike your courage, gleaming swift and strong,
Yours the white rapture of a winged soul,
Yours is a spirit like a Mayday song.
(God help you, if you break the goldfish bowl!)

"Whatever is, is good" - your gracious creed.
You wear your joy of living like a crown.
Love lights your simplest act, your every deed.
(Drop it, I tell you- put that kitten down!)
You are God's kindliest gift of all - a friend.
Your shining loyalty unflecked by doubt,
You ask but leave to follow to the end.
(Couldn't you wait until I took you out?)

Dickinson. She lived nearby. She visited the Cape often. I just "feel" her sometimes.

Exultation is the going
Of an inland soul to sea,
Past the houses—past the headlands—
Into deep Eternity—

Bred as we, among the mountains,
Can the sailor understand
The divine intoxication
Of the first league out from land?
—Emily Dickinson

T was okay...sometimes I wonder whether her questions are for therapeutic reasons, or if she is just nosy. Today she felt nosy. Talked about the home invasion...err, I mean inspection. There are a lot of feelings in me about being engulfed by others, having nothing of my own or to myself. I feel robbed when people get too close, like they are going to steal a part of me. Maybe because there were so damn many kids in my family and I never had my own space. I am very selfish of my home and family. I like my privacy very much, maybe too much.

I am off to get some printing done.

OH...and guess what? I won Creative Suite 6 premium! I had entered in a design competition where I had to design an advertisement. I just submitted the ad that I created for a non-profit I help out with and I won. So now I have the latest and greatest adobe software (and $1900 value).

ok quick couch question.... does anyone else have a phobia with public restrooms? I prefer a one hole-er and would rather hold it all day then use a public restroom. Am I in the minority?

I like it too. Nobody's looking at you. You get to eavesdrop on everybody else's conversations and thank your lucky stars you're not stuck with those people for the rest of your life. And you get to chat with your single co-diners if you want. Eating with people is also fun. It's nice to be able to have both. Not be so scared of one that you settle for an awful version of the other?

Same answer applies for the public restrooms, more or less!...
