Work from home SNOW DAY here.
the 1-2 inches the predicted early Tuesday became a foot of drifted snow overnight. We are under a travel advisory meaning we are not supposed to go out unless it is an emergency. Everything is shutting down. Thank goodness my neighbor plowed out my driveway. This morning I could not get out my back door! The drift was about 4 feet high.

It's a double edge sword... I miss the beauty of a perfectly manicured yard, but hate the fact that it grows.

Granite, can you go to a craft store and just look for new ideas?

We had about ten inches of snow last week and another 13 day before yesterday and today. I have my work at home so I'm just hanging out until marriage counseling later.

Oh funny story, yeserday, part way through the snow storm, H and I were discussing how much snow there was. I said at least 10 inches and he was arguing. He came back in and said he had a totally inaccurate picture in his head of what 10 inches looks like. I was like, yeah, most men do.
Thanks for this!

Rainy day here in New England....but not very cold. Sorry you're snowed in Sconnie, at least you have power? I can see my lawn because all of the rain has washed away the snow. Salt air and snow don't get along well together. Salt air is winning.

I sent the dogs into my daughter's room. She came home last night after being gone for 4 days. I want her to get up so we can play.

My lawn is never manicured... I just like digging in the dirt instead of the snow

Just realized my house is cold because the thermostat is programmed to go way down during the day...

Ugh - I actually started to fall asleep at about 8 this morning. I may not have been able to sleep much, probably only a couple of hours, but I was jolted awake about 30 minutes ago by the loudest noise ever. I have no idea what my neighbors are doing, but it is definitely with a big contraption.

ty

Granite: can you watch a movie or two? Something stupid and brainless?

Speaking of which...a friend and I went to see Identity Thief last night, and I laughed out loud several times. It was pretty funny. Not hysterical comedy of the year, but enough to take your mind off the fact that people were in your house leaving skin cells everywhere.

I like cutting grass - it is very immediate gratification for me. Shaggy weeds=not shaggy weeds. But I only weed whack or other things about once a summer. So not manicured. I have someone come and do the garden part once or twice a year. The dogs trample everything so I only have weedy, hardy type things..

H likes manicured, which is why we are looking for a place with what's called a "sea yard". That means sand, sea grass, scrub pines, etc. The place we are looking at now has a small green house attached...that will work for the both of us.

(it also has an incredible view of the salt marsh and bay area)

I don't have actual pics of the house. I just have that one that was on the web site.
The yard is small, only about .25. But fenced in, with lots of wild berry bushes. The front yard is lawn though.

I don't know why, but saying or hearing weed whacker always makes me smile. When my oldest Nephew (6 now) was three the only thing he wanted for Christmas was a weed whacker. To my surprise they actually make toy weed whackers so he was a happy boy. He weed whacked the entire house after he opened the gift. (I am now much more content since I got to say weed whacker so many times.)
Thanks for this!
