My pups breed has a bit of Great Pyrenees (apparently) back in the line. I'm guessing they'll be dealing with a giant amount of hair soon. My boy wasn't too bad at 11 months, but once his full adult coat was through...tons and tons of hair! Though my boy had hit 134 lbs by 9 months. There really is a lot of hair to deal with these days!

A share button means that someone else decides who gets to see what you've written. Which for some, is a scary thought. It destroys the sanctity of the confessional.

Evening all. It takes a while to catch up. Here is a good quote, IMO. Lancelot is a very good novel.

‎"All he had to do was solve the mystery of the universe, which may be difficult but is not as difficult as living an ordinary life." —Walker Percy, Lancelot

Oops! Well, I still think a SHARE button would be a bad idea.

It made me think, does she buy presents for friends and family (and yes I completely understand I'm nothing like those sorts of people are to her) and then leave the price tag on the gifts. It just seemed so unnecessary to point it out, in a way to tell me I was worth it. If she'd been asking me for the money back it would be different. She was talking about not being in contact with many people back here and said she'd been willing to do it for me..."and at 80 cents a pop". Ouch.

OK, here's one of my favorite lines of poetry.

"A thousand thousand slimy things lived on: and so did I." Coleridge

CE: I saw the SHARE button this morning and I though...ick, dislike that thought. I didn't want what I write to be shared on fb or something where someone might recognize me. It's a small world sometimes. So, I really would double think posting if it shows up.

I really dislike all public bathrooms. I was forced to get used to them when I was a sales rep with a large area. At the time I could tell you all the best bathrooms from about 60 miles south of D.C. to about 30 miles north of Baltimore. I think that there is an app now to find good restrooms.

I don't read a lot of poetry. But this is my absolute favorite.

DULCE ET DECORUM EST

Bent double, like old beggars under sacks,
Knock-kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge,
Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs
And towards our distant rest began to trudge.
Men marched asleep. Many had lost their boots
But limped on, blood-shod. All went lame; all blind;
Drunk with fatigue; deaf even to the hoots
Of tired, outstripped Five-Nines that dropped behind.
Gas! Gas! Quick, boys! – An ecstasy of fumbling,
Fitting the clumsy helmets just in time;
But someone still was yelling out and stumbling,
And flound'ring like a man in fire or lime . . .
Dim, through the misty panes and thick green light,
As under a green sea, I saw him drowning.
In all my dreams, before my helpless sight,
He plunges at me, guttering, choking, drowning.
If in some smothering dreams you too could pace
Behind the wagon that we flung him in,
And watch the white eyes writhing in his face,
His hanging face, like a devil's sick of sin;
If you could hear, at every jolt, the blood
Come gargling from the froth-corrupted lungs,
Obscene as cancer, bitter as the cud
Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues,
My friend, you would not tell with such high zest
To children ardent for some desperate glory,
The old Lie; Dulce et Decorum est
Pro patria mori.

Wilfred Owen

Costner: William Blake?
SS: William Blake!
Stopdog - I find it fitting that you are the first, and so far only, person I've used the like button on. I just couldn't let a Bull Durham reference go by without liking it. The placement and the heart that it shows does not appeal to me.
