Wow...a few more pages and it will be time to start a new couch. I'm betting there will be a new one by the time I get back from my interview today.

I am getting really nervous about my T session today. This is going to be so hard. I am already having stomach pains and running to the bathroom from the anxiety. I really hope T is open to hearing me and helping us, but I'm afraid I'm not going to get that. I sometimes shake my head thinking - damn, I pay for this, and he gets paid for this.

I have an hour to distract myself before getting a shower and heading to T....I hate the fact that I will have to rush from my session to an assignment. Doesn't give me any processing time before switching gears. My session ends at noon and my assignment starts at 12:15 PM - in a town that's exactly 15 minutes away with no traffic. I hate having to rush. Luckily, the people at the place where I have my assignment said that it's ok if I'm a few minutes late. She said they are very flexible there. That's a relief. If I am late, I will certainly make up the time by staying a few minutes later...BUT, I have to be home to get my daughter off the bus a half hour after my assignment ends, so I don't have MUCH time. So stressful.

I'm going to try to accomplish some cleaning right now to get my mind off of things.

Yikes! That is scary! In my old house, the pilot lights were kinda open at the top of the stove, so any air movement would blow them out. I'd always wake up in the middle of the night to that awful smell and we'd have to air out the house. I had such a nose for it that when I moved into this house, I could smell it in the garage. I told the people at work that I hated that smell. They were like, umm, it shouldn't smell. I totally freaked thinking the house was going to blow up. I had the gas company come out right away, and they said they were surprised I could smell it because the leak was so tiny. LOL. I have a nose for it now, that's for sure.

It's worth a shot though. I need him to see that I am not coming from a place of trying to harm. And I'm really not. It seems that no matter how I talk to him, he accuses me of being a certain way - and I end up confused because I can't imagine that I was that way - and I feel stuck in confusion. Before I even mentioned that to xgrpcoT, she said that she had that experience with him many times and has heard of many others feeling the same way. Like, he's triggered and absolutely cannot see past his own defenses..and questioning him at that point ends up escalating the issue to the brink of insanity. Then later, after he's calmed down, he'll address it totally calmly as if nothing happened - no acknowledgment of his crazed reaction.
Yeah- not really a strategy. I was referring more to my transference, that I ask him to marry me every other week. I was like, I love you so much, your defensive money is no good here. He doesn't get to play that card at all. It sounds like your t keeps it and processes it and transforms it, instead of sitting with it. Just tell him you're not buying it! Don't listen to his excuses. And change the subject. But yeah you got the idea.

And then he's used it on me, saying, "you couldn't tell me? But it's us!"
Thanks for this!

I should have titled it "Couch 52, Where Are You?" but only us old bitties would get the reference.

Wikid - those bracelets are awesome.
And I love puffins. I want to see a real puffin some time. Maybe if I ever visit Iceland...

MUE, I'm in your pocket. And I'll be in yours, too, RTS.

Good luck at your interview, Squirrel!

Hi to everybody else. I hope you'll have a very good day in your various ways. I'm off to a barbecue this afternoon, because it's a holiday. I'm kind of disapproving of the holiday, but a barbecue with nice people can be fun, all the same.

Did anyone think I would let this couch go gently into that good night? You can count on me. I try never to disappoint. Besides, couches are better once broken in properly.

Don't tell everyone my secret, OK? It just seems that way. I have had the creeping crud and am just now recovering. Work, sleep(or rather lie in bed) and eat chicken noodle soup. That's been my routine for this week. And the monsoon is here in time for the weekend and my recovery. Oh well, I have some reading I can do.
