Sometimes when I have a problem Im not sure if I should tell my therapist or I feel she may not understand and so on I think about how things have been betweet the two of us from beginning seeing her to the present and think if she understood and so on all those months and years since seeing her then she is most likely going to understand and so on now. then I go ahead and tell her. First I write it out because by writing I can see what I want to say and alot of times I end up solving the situation without my therapist help because on paper I can look at the situation from a distance from the emotions and so on and just see the nut of the situation. but if I still havent solved the situation or I just want my therapist to know what has been going on I have it wrote down so I can either tell her or hand the paper to her to read.

So step one - think about your therapy history with this therapist has he/she ever ridiculed you before? If not the odds are fantastic that the therapist will not do so now.

Then just decide how you want to tell the therapist - face to face, by phone, written out and you read it to the therapist, written out and therapist reads it.

(((( Girls ))))

Your "issue" is perfectly understandable considering your childhood/background.

There are more here that will support than ridicule.

And I would hope that those that will have trouble understanding would keep it to themselves.

You'd be surprised how many will be able to relate to something similar in their own relationships with T.

If you think it would help to discuss it openly, we're here for you. You know that. problem

Please talk about it. We will support you. Everyone needs support and this seems like a good place to get it. I'm sure you can with our help tell your T what you feel and it likely isn't something he hasn't heard before.

You can read my thread if you like to see how stupid I feel and how crazy I think I am!
