Wikid - sorry about your family member.

MKAC - I hope it is not lyme disease.

LC - the couch waxes and wanes - news of its demise is greatly exaggerated.

Thanks SD...

I too have fallen in love with the couch and its cushions, RTS. Alas, unrequitted love, doomed from the beginning, another heartbreak brought on by my own romanticizing of my on line friendships.

LC - Dude - step away from the romantic era poetry books for awhile. No one is doomed to heartbreak. Do some deep breathing, eat some chia seeds, listen to some banjo music (banjos are always happy) and just give yourself some time.

And just because I like Steve Martin:

Just got in at 2 AM from my friend's house....it was good to get my mind off of my daughter's trip for a while.

At 9 PM, I got a text from my mom saying that they stopped at Cracker Barrel for dinner and the GPS indicated they were 12 hours from their destination. That was good, because most of the rest of the way, I'd imagine my daughter will be sleeping. I hope.

Of course, the minute I got home from my friend's house, the panic returned. Ack.

Time to try to get some sleep. Goodnight, peeps!

Good Morning Couch. TGIF.

I did something stupid yesterday I texted my xT to ask for appt. My H suggested that I just want him to leave and I'm thinking maybe he is right but is it for the right reasons...

I don't think contacting xT was a stupid thing to do. I hope your appt helps.

I'm off to take care of birds this morning and then back home to get some schoolwork done. I also suspect there will be a nap in there, too. I haven't been sleeping too well.

Morning couch.

Well, it's Friday. Another day of work for me. Day off tomorrow though. Will need to do laundry before work on Monday. And some other cleaning tasks (like changing the kitty poop box).

I may take my kindle to K's today. So I can read when I am bored. I bought 2 books last night that I read by choice in high school, but are still good books. Older, but good. Sci-fi. 2001: A Space Odyssey. I really like Clarke's books. There's a slew I can read. And a lot are available on Kindle, so I don't have to find space for an actual book in my apartment.

Well...I need to go eat breakfast before heading to K's.

I hope everyone has a decent day.

Well, the lucky part is that it is a quick fix. LOL. And my family had that exact same saying.

Stop, have you listened to Mumford and Sons? It's a newer group, but they use a banjo and I absolutely love their music. Plug them in to YouTube and there are a bunch of options. The most popular right now is "I Wait for You," but I like basically every song on the Babel album.

I am feeling better this morning already on the antibiotics. The headache is mostly gone and my stomach is only uneasy. It's a lot uneasy, but the headache being gone is a big deal. It was wicked.

I plan to ride tomorrow because the doctor said I would feel almost completely better within 24 hours and that will be ... what? 4 pm Thursday to 10 am Saturday -- I have no idea how many hours that is and I am still not up to basic math. LOL. Wait, I can do it -- 42 hours. I'll be fine. I also have a friend who is an exercise physiologist and he emailed me some strengthening exercises for my knee so I can start building back up to running. I am back on track hopefully.

Okay, going to brag a bit. My daughter went to a prestigious summer studies program at a top university. There was testing involved to get in and a big application process. My mother in law has paid for her to go each year because it is such an amazing opportunity, but more expensive than normal people can afford. Anyway, I was just reading her evaluation from the college professor and it is just a glowing evaluation with top scores on everything.

Here is what the prof had to say at the end about D: "D was one of the steadiest people in the class and a quiet leader among the girls. She always added to discussions, and her writing was not only thoughtful but polished and interesting in form, such as a story that proceeded month by month for a year in the life of a character. I would encourage her to try some of her stories in competitions; I believe her work would be quite competitive." There should be an emoticon for a person exploding with pride and excitement. My baby girl is SO COOL!

Today marks 10 years of marriage for h and I... He spent the night on the couch and will be going to his parent's house to continue renovations that they have been working on all week. Never how I imagine our relationship would be at at the 10 year mark. I am sure I will spend most if the day in tears like yesterday. Still have heard nothing from t. Emailed twice called once since Tuesday. I am doing whatever I can to stay safe, have even considered heading to the er. Hanging in there for now, though.

Good Morning all...
Believe it or not, I am just waking up. Leaving for CT tonight, funeral tomorrow. Found out how she died, she was indeed sick for 2-3 weeks...no one told us. It's horrible. Bad mojo. When I think that I could have gone down and seen her I well up. MIL didn't know, still doesn't...they've opted not to tell her. I don't agree at all.

MKAC - your daughter rox. That's such cool news...you'll have to tell us when she first gets published!

Stopdog...that Steve Martin atheist song made me spit coffee out my nose.

Did you tell T it was urgent? I know it's hard to admit when you are in dire need, but this sounds like one of those times.

bookbub.com (you have to give them an email address but it does not cost anything. I have a gmail email account that is only used for things like this and is not my usual one with contacts etc) will give lists of newly free or reduced kindle books. Some are crap but some are not bad. Also search for kindle on Dealsplus: Coupon Codes, Promo Codes, Free Shipping, Discounts and Printable Coupons
and they will list (and sometimes explain what genre) new free kindle books (fiction, cooking, sci-fi, etc)

(((wikid))) how horribly rough for you.

squirrel, stopdog - books are good. Books are better than pretty much everything except possibly for cats. And cats sometimes fight inside your duvet at 2am - books never do that. (I'm partial to actual physical books as opposed to e-books, but that's just me. Well, and my H. We moved to a house to get space for our books.)

healed, I'm sorry to hear that.

I'm trying to push down anxiety. It's a rather unpleasant thing in several ways. I'm starting to think that anxiety is probably my main mental issue right now, rather than depression. A few hours ago I had a minor panic attack at the thought of returning to T, and I almost txted him to quit therapy - but I didn't, I txted Supportive Friend for a sanity check instead, and was told that yes, it would indeed be incredibly stupid for me to quit therapy by txt. Or at all, right now. A week and a half to go...

*** 11 days *** (((apt))) You can do it, the worst is over. You are no longer looking at 9 weeks. If you feel like quitting, text us, we'll give you a swift kick into reality.

Ugh. You know what is really bothering me? This woman came to visit me in the hospital several times. Drove 4 hrs to see me. I didn't get a chance to return that favor. I wonder if she thought "where the hell is Wiki? Why hasn't she called? Doesn't she care?" It kills me to think that she didn't know I loved her. I'd have been there in a second if I knew she was ill. It was an awful illness too.
