Thanks Sally.

I emailed T upset about what the ARNP said. T agreed she had no right to say that my pdoc was a bad dr. T did however agree that I should have a PCP because then one person would always be seeing me and get to know me instead of having someone different every time in urgent care.

The arnp recommended a certain pcp, but I don't know if I trust her, he may have the same views as her.

Squirrel, you probably should see about getting a pcp - just to make me happy! I've had the same one for over 30 years. I never had a pediatrician but i got my dr now. Turns out we're the same age, i never knew! I go every 3 or 4 months because of blood pressure and cholesterol issues. I think otherwise i'd be dead or have super-stroked out by now. A lot of women have their gyn as their pcp, insurance companies allow that now. My pcp is (east) Indian, i told him i wanted do not resuscitate; he offered to go outside and cut down some trees for my funeral pyre right then and there! Dont tell stopdog, i dont want to give her any more ideas for smoked ham!
Thanks for this!

Hey I do a test today to be a parole records specialist so maybe if I get the job I will be handling you (although probably not unless you live near me)

Was trying to find a gyn to go to all morning since I didn't think it was a uti. None of the ones that I my insurance can be used on had anything open until mid to late jan, so that wouldn't work for folliwup care for the uti because i will be finished with the antibiotic early january. Maybe I can get t to recommend someone then see if they are on my insurance. That is how I got my current pdoc. I trust her.

Probably should get s gyn too, t has gotten on me before for not seeing one since the one and only time I did in 2008. I just feel awkward spreading my legs to a stranger. I know a pap doesn't hurt it didn't the one time i had one. I just don't like anyone other than myself touching me there.

Technically, I'm not reposting, I'm responding.

I chose them not because they are old but because they got so little feedback.

I feel terrible when my posts go unanswered and I assume other people feel the same.

I think a lot of us are stressed over the holiday season - disrupted routine, Ts unavailable, financial pressure, having to meet family we hate. External triggers played out on the couch, maybe? (That's how therapy works, yes?)

I'm hoping it will all blow over and we'll be back to normal in the New Year.

I also refuse to see women for this reason...they freak out too much.
Actually, I agree with this woman. Diabetes is no joke and a simple blood test would have caught it earlier.

Thing is she is claiming I have diabetes because there are a trace amount of protien and keytones in my urine. I have no other signs. I know diabetes is serious, but I also think she was being overly reactive.

Squirrel, while I agree with the ARNP that having a PCP would be a good thing, I don't agree with her that your urine test results necessarily mean diabetes. While diabetes can cause protein and ketones in the urine, there are a number of other things, unrelated to diabetes, that also can. That includes many medications, which can elevate proteins, and calorie-restricted diets, which can cause ketones.

The only way to definitively diagnose diabetes is through some simple blood tests, and if she didn't do those, she has no business telling you that you have diabetes. Your urinalysis results warrant getting those blood tests done, though, so the sooner you can find a PCP, the better.

Working though a workbook with YT about the afteraffects on us as adults from ca...of all kinds... Its hard... To see how u let it affect you when you thought you were actually taking back your power only now you dont let anyone in.... To keep having weird dreams about my family of origin where parts are realistic and other parts are so weird and fragmented you cant figure them out.... Top that off with holidays.....seeing my foo and UGHHH!!!

emailed pdoc with what the arnp said today to see what he thinks. he is in town, but not in the office until after the holidays, so chances at getting an earlier appointment are slim to none, but I did at least ask what he thinks. he usually responds to emails relatively quickly with either an answer, a call me at the office tomorrow, or a we'll talk about it next appointment. hopefully this one will be an answer.

My sister just informed me that my parents are only giving cash to the grandkids. While it is very nice they give gifts at all....this would have been nice to know. For the last 10 years they have given my son a Hess Truck...and even though hes 11 he was still looking forward to getting it....now my H and I are frantically driving around looking...my H is hitting Philly and then if none there its Wilmington next...

General chat, which doesn't have to be about therapy (although it often is). People post random things about their days, or ask for advice, or vent about therapy sessions, or share good or bad news.

It's midnight, which means that it is officially Christmas here. I hope it's ok to wish people a not unpleasant couple of days, regardless of whether you celebrate culturally-determined holidays or not.

Seriously? Different cultures may approach these things differently.
