I really hate therapy blogs as well. Those here at PC as well as those listed at psychologytoday. I wonder if therapists that blog are those who believe in broad stereotypes? And the blog posts are often so badly written that the writing teacher in me just wants to grab the huge red pen and go "Vague" "Please state your sources for this sweeping statement" "This does not follow logically on the preceding" "Contradiction in terms" .... the list would be endless.

I sometimes make angry acting-out type comments on those blogs, which is another reason I don't read them. I don't want to be that person. Anything remotely negative is always removed in any case. That's why you only see comments saying "Oh Dr X, you write it exactly as it is".

Another two hour delay because of the cold weather.. and tomorrow is supposed to be even colder, I am thinking another day off because the windchill warning goes until 1pm tomorrow.. With wind chills the temps are supposed to be -30 to -40.. Today is supposed to be my day off, but since we didn't have school yesterday I am going in to drop my D off, then heading to my room to do some lesson planning. We also have an away basketball game tonight... It is too cold to do anything though!!!

GL today Wiki
Jersey.. things WILL get better and your T rocks and you know it
Lola- how goes the job?
I hope everyone else has a wonderful day and is warmer than we are right now!

Hey Healed, it's going.... Don't know if I am going to continue. I am weighing my options. This is a very weird spot for me, I will be in a hotel for 3 weeks every month until the end of June. Not feeling the love or passion like I used too. This may not be the best option for me even though I was voluntold to do this. Just giving it a little time. Thanks for asking.

Not looking forward to the long cold ride alone, especially with my current GI issues...grrr. Hopefully there will be a lot of rest rooms on the way. I am also hoping the immunologist takes me off of methotrexate. It's really making me sick. I know she wants to up my dosage from 6 pills to 10 pills, but I know my body can't handle that. Ick.

.
1. Oh you two.
2. It is bad when the treatment is poisoning you also.

Today's light readings:

"Teaching ideas for generating critical and constructive insights into well-functioning multidisciplinary mental health teams" (11 pages)

"Use of the resiliency model of family stress, adjustment and adaptation in the analysis of family caregiver reaction among families of older people with congestive heart failure" (10 pages)

"Promoting Adolescent Sense of Coherence: Testing Models of Risk, Protection, and Resiliency" (14 pages)

"Mental Health Counseling: Past, Present, and Future" (5 pages)

Then write a 300 word discussion post...

"Describe the key philosophies of the counseling profession:

Analyze the evolution of the key philosophies of wellness, resilience, and prevention.
Examine a part of the counseling history of your field that interests you and analyze the events that contributed to the emergence of the specialization."

...aaaaaaaaand that's my afternoon. See y'all later. If you see me posting before tonight, tell me to get my @$$ back to work.

Now I have to figure out what to do with a bunch of okara and nut pulp.
I am going to try drying some of it and vacuum sealing some of it so I can compare how it fares in cooking with both types.

dang...first one up

Been a while since I've had the privilege of setting out the coffee, oatmeal and fruit for everyone.

I was up a lot with the dog...trying to keep her from chewing her bandages. I can't put her in a cone, she goes crazy, and last time Lex chewed her out of it.

I have a lunch date with my pastor at a vegan restaurant. He wants to talk about how to help several severe addicts, I just want to eat lentil loaf. lol. What ever, at least he's going vegan for the day.
