This is a general chat thread about life, therapy, and everything else.

This thread can move quickly and sometimes posts are overlooked, and you might not get a response even if your post is quite important. It's not personal, it's just that people don't always read back before posting. Post again or start a specific thread if it happens.

Public service announcement: It is recommended clients not contact the therapist while intoxicated. It will not make you feel better in the morning.

Nice I have been a Red Sox fan most of my life, with me having family members who used to live in New England, I am a Patriots fan as well.

Hey not necessarily, just because you live in a certain area doesn't mean that you have to root for their teams, you can root for whatever teams you want (I root for Red Sox and Patriots but not typically the Celtics or Bruins)

My cat just leaped to the top of the curtain and tried to balance on the rod and walk across. Because the two giant cat trees and three scratching posts and various dressers and cabinets and bookshelves that they are allowed to roam at will are not sufficient and because he thinks I don't need nice things anyway apparently.

Did I mention the curtain rod promptly broke? Jerk. Then he comes over and wants attention because he feels bad about falling on the floor.

SD doesn't do "cute" by default, but feel free to start the next couch as you see fit...

MKAC - sorry about the rod. I find I am resigned to the idea the cats allow me to live in the house I pay for because I am their minion. They are mostly benevolent tyrants and when wrathful, the dogs bear the biggest brunt of it.

Indeed - I did wait a bit to give others a chance to start the new thread- but I get twitchy once it gets past 1000 posts.

It was a very bitter sweet final session.

It went something like this in the session and in car on drive home.

My young dog gets whacked for no apparent reason sometimes. The one cat has just gone psycho. She was loving on the dog a couple of weeks ago while they both laid on my chest. Suddenly the cat whacks the dog on the nose with her claws out, for no apparent reason. The dog took it for a second and I tried to push the cat away, but the cat attacked again, and the dog snarled and snapped at her. THEN, the cat turned and purposely slashed me across the face, as if I were somehow the cause of the problem. I have actually tried to find her a new home, but turns out, you should wait to ask someone if they want a cat until your slashed-up face heals.
Thanks for this!

I had a dog who every morning (literally every morning) would lie on the bed with one of my cats who would lick her face and then stop. When the cat stopped, the dog, Every Morning, would poke the cat gently and the cat would go berserk and whap the dog a few times on the head and jump down.
The dog would cry, get loved by me, and we would get up and I would feed them all their breakfast. I am not certain the dog would have gotten up to eat without her getting licked and then attacked and then loved by me ritual. I adored that dog.
That cat is lying between my ankles on the recliner right now.

RTS - how was the anon meeting?

Sorry!
