Yppah yadhtrib Wikid, or Dikiw if you prefer.

Thermometer on R2D2(nod to Hankster) is way off. It reads 275 degrees F and two other thermometers read about 350-360F.

Why is there no degree key on a regular keyboard?

Hi everyone. I don't know what to do. I have a difficult situation with a friend. This is the simplified version: She has been accused of alcohol abuse and lying by her employers and asked to leave immediately. Her accommodation comes with her job so she has nowhere to go. She has asked to stay with us but my H put his foot down and said no. I think he is right but I feel guilty that I can't help my friend. I also feel hurt and betrayed by her as if the accusations are true she has told me the same lies as she told her employer - basically she seems to have made up much of her previous life, including a marriage and the death of her 'husband'. I think she probably did lie (based on other things she has said to me) but I really try to see the good in people and I'm sure she has her reasons. I have seen her drunk but not when she is working. I am at the same time worried about her and worried that she will 'flip' because we didn't help her and throw bricks through our window or something. I am so confused.

I would find it hard not to "help" too but I think your H is right.... Also there are lots of ways to "help" or "enable" a person but sometimes a person has to suffer the consquences and hit "bottom" before they can seek the help they truely need...like for alcholism or other addictions.
Thanks for this!

Thanks so much RTS. I think my h was worried she would move in and then not move on with her life... And he could be right. I have suggested in the past that she get some counselling but she insisted she didn't need it. I hate feeling like I was taken in by her, I must look such an idiot.

I doubt you look lik an idiot but more like a kind friend. Its easier for an outsider (like your H) to make an objective decision than for someone who is a friend.

A late Happy Birthday, Wiki! I'm glad you were born.

Granite, that little kitty is extraordinarily adorable!

Hello to all. Just lying low this weekend, resting. Sinus infection has gotten worse again. I think I need to call for a refill on the antibiotic, but have to wait until Monday.
