Is anyone here doing or have done Dialectical behaviour Therapy ?

I have been doing CBT for a few months and in my last session we talked about DBT and I got some homework to read.

Did DBT work for you? How helpful was it?

I have been doing DBT for a bit. Actually finishing up 1st module of second round.

It has been extremely helpful for me.

What were some of the things you did in your first module?

I did some google research and I was reading that some role play was involved! Is that true?

My first module was Emotion Regulation. At the beginning of each module is mindfulness where I go. Basically in each you learn lots of useful skill to manage a emotions, stressful situations. Also in one module you'll learn better communication in relationships.
We've never done role playing...I think that depends on the group you join.
Thanks for this!

I tried it seven times, and it was very triggering in how it was presented every time. I have gone through all the modules and can see how they may be helpful, but I get too triggered by it... If you are good with the CBT though, then DBT could be an easy segway.
