I've had things shuffled a couple of times. I try not to let it affect me, considering how well everything else goes. Other specialists cancel/postpone appointments too, so I don't see how therapists would be any different - having families and other commitments.

I have had a couple of periods where my therapist canceled several weeks in a row, being very insecure I was sure it was her not wanting to deal with me any longer. It finally got to the point where I was concerned about her, once I started checking online I found out that in the first case her sister had passed away and in the second her father passed away. That sort of put my feelings of rejection on hold, but didn't lessen my need/desire to see her. But at least I understood the reason behind what was going on, the correct context really helped a lot.

I never see it as a personal thing. Multiple cancellations would stress me out but I know for the most part she would rather make $70 than not. I have a fear of vomiting too so I have told her if the bug is ever in her house cancel away as I would rather that than show up where there are germs. Yuck.
