ha ha...spit protein shake out my nose.

Today's a home day for me mostly. I actually am still in PJ's. D is really sick with a high fever. I made her some cough drops and hot lemonade, but she's still miserable.

It's still wicked cold, for those keeping track, 23 F.

I blurt it out to t once in a while. I feel like i should, like its a sign that i am human, like i need to practice it, like i should be more girly, or more in touch with softer feelings. Its sort of a substitute for ice cream thats probably not a good thing.

No V-day celebration at our house in the last couple of years.. This year my h will be out of town, so it will just me and the kiddos. The last time we acknowledged the day, he sent me flowers at work (the day before V-day to save money).. lol. Oh well, I am buying myself an automatic car starter soon, so that will be my V-day present to myself.. hahaha!

One of the things that I run into with working at the same school that T's kids going to, is finding out stuff like this.. His son has a chronic illness, I know about it through T and also through the school as a teacher here. Today I found out his son has been out of school because of issues related to his chronic illness, and that T has been staying home with him all week. So, I can assume that tomorrow's appointment is cancelled.. I think. Or it just makes me soooo anxious waiting for the text or phone call all day tomorrow. Oh well, I will make it through.. And I could be wrong as well.

The L word is frequent here. Not just with H, but with my adult kids as well. We always leave with a kiss on the cheek and say "love you" and the other responds "tons".

Sounds corny to write it like that, but H's dad was killed by a drunk driver when H was 10, and H hates that he didn't tell his dad he loved him that morning. So that's always been important when we raised kids. Life is short.

My parents said it to each other and to us and my sibling is all over-emotive about everything so he probably says it about 100 times a day. I am not anti it for others, I don't get it for myself. I am usually pretty clear about how I feel about others and I don't worry about them to me in most cases. I feel no more loved by someone I already think does love me when they say it than when they do not.

Ok... So that wasn't nearly as bad as I worked it up to be. It was fine actually. Next week will probably be the more tough one.

I'm glad to hear that, catonyx.

Twelve hours after my session, I've mostly got a grip on myself. H just came home, so I'll have to focus on my behaviour. (That sounds worse than it is. It is actually very unlikely that he'd notice anything short of a crying or screaming fit, which are not options in any case.)

I just made home made chicken chow mein...and it was labor intensive...but easy and tasted wonderful. I'll never buy take-out again.

By the way, I told T both about the thing I lied to him about last time (it wasn't a planned deception but a reflexive lie because I was too ashamed to tell him the truth - not sure whether that makes it more defensible) and also that I took the earlier bus yesterday to hopefully run into him on my way to work. Neither confession caused him to explode.
Thanks for this!

Oh, Mastodon, I found a wine I really like- at Olive Garden, of all places. It was a white moscato.

Oh, nice! I have had moscato wine and liked it (though I can't remember what it might have been called.) Was it fairly sweet?

We're going out to dinner tonight because I leave tomorrow and I'm so effing depressed. I'm going to have a margarita I think.

Also we're going out so that I can avoid my phone if my T thinks he needs to call me. :-/

I may have sent an... emotional... email O.O

Which reminds me - I need to go pick up some wine before it's time to pick up the kids. I was craving some last night and had none. No moscato though. Too sweet for me.

Yeah... I'm glad too. I kind of figured that's how it would go. I get worked up a bit for nothing.

Glad to hear it
