lol my mom would probably do the same.

When I was 12 I found needles behind our house and my dad went and busted open the door to the ***** house next door and started throwing them out. He was arrested. lol. Then released. The ***** house was shut down and no more needles.

Hmm there's something I want to do or accomplish or something... But I don't know how to describe it... And I don't know what I should do exactly...

That makes no sense.

I've never attached a photo here. We'll see if I did it right.

I just ran across the FB page for the Lutheran Church in El Salvador, and on it was this picture of this little Lutheran Church out in the countryside. When my sister passed away, in lieu of flowers, we asked people to give memorials to this church. My sister and her husband had visited there and done work with this congregations several times. There were so many memorials in her honor, that they were able to put a new roof on the church, put up walls, and paint it. They renamed the church the Lutheran Church of Kathy Sprecher in her honor. I'm moved to see this. That little sign next to the door has the name of the church in Spanish but it's hard to read. Tuesday is her birthday. This is a reminder that her legacy lives on . . .

Hmm ... Ok let me try this again... What do you do if you wish you could talk to someone and tell them things, but can't because they're gone? Like write a letter? Or?

I write. Especially in that circumstance it's very cathartic and beneficial to me to write to them to get it out.

If it's something I want to say to someone and it will never go to them or can't, etc I'll write it, ponder it, think of them and then burn it. Sounds strange but it's what works for me. The act of burning it to me is a cleansing from my head, it's not done in a negative way for me just a release and let go.

Like if they're deceased.

Thanks. Kathy was a very special person, and those trips to El Salvador meant a great deal to her and to her husband and daughter. The stories they told of kids hiking on dirt mountain trails for miles to get to a one-room school that was really nothing but a dirt slab with a roof over it; no walls at all. This little church apparently was in almost as bad shape when they visited there, but now it has walls and paint and a better roof. They are on the side of a volcano and I think had to be evacuated at one point in the last couple of years, but no damage was done.

Sharing it with someone else can feel healing.

After a really bad layoff, some friends and I took mementos/emails from our horrid work situation and burned them in a barrel outside in the snow. We kind of made it a bit comedic, while one in our group was quite somber about it. It was a way to say the past won't define me.

Hmm... I'm not sure I could share it. I think that's way too vulnerable for me.

Also, my friend had his mother just pass away and he has a journal that is just dedicated to when he wants to talk to her. He writes in it and then puts away until next time which I think is a beautiful idea as well.

Not sure I'd need a whole journal. I just wish I told her a few things.

You could write it and then send it off in a balloon. ☺

I don't know why, but reading that makes me cry. Maybe that's what I should do.

We had a balloon release at my sister's funeral. We released 54 balloons, one for every year of her life. I've never quite looked at a floating balloon the same way since. It was actually very moving.

Yeah... There was a city wide balloon release here last summer for a young boy. Watching the entire sky fill with balloons from all areas was interesting.

Hmm.
