Well, I gave up on cleaning. The kids and I went to get subs for dinner, then we made brownies, (which we will make into heart shapes and frost with pink frosting for daddy), then we played with the kittens, and now D is watching a documentary on kid/teenage ballet dancers. She has gotten serious about ballet this year and wants to try out for the competitive team. She tried out and got a couple of roles in the Nutcracker during the holidays and that is what fueled her obessesion.. So everything is about dance these days!
Still waiting for my husband to get home, he has been driving through heavy snow all day.

What did she want, hankster? Or did you not open it?

We are driving through the mountains in Virginia in white out conditions. Glad H is driving.

Sounds like a nice day healed. I like the brownie idea. I kind of wish I had some yummy dessert here, but I don't. It's tempting to buy something, but I better not as I won't lose any weight having junk around.

How far away is your husband now?

Hubby and I are getting ready to go out to celebrate our anniversary (17 years, somehow) with another couple that we've been friends with for years. We're going to see Carnival of Illusion, it's an old-world magic show here in town. We went last year for our anniversary too, it's a fun show. Then after the show we're going out to dinner. I will probably drink too much, I tend to do that with these friends! But it will be fun.

Happy Valentine's day, couch!

Thanks for asking. Yeah i opened it. Its a birthday card. She said i could bring "my friend" for dinner. She did everything she could to ruin that friendship and insult the person, it is just thoughtless and weird to extend an invitation now. She also said something about, we are still blood. To me, that just means the no contact is working. It is finally becoming obvious to her that it was only a blood link between us, no positive emotional bond was ever developed. T says she relates to people thru pain. As the pain recedes, there is nothing left.

Be careful out there driving!

He is technically probably a little under an hour away, but he says the snow is terrible and it might take him two hours.

I want an app on my phone so when my father is talking AT me it translates into that Charlie Brown teacher voice. The last conversation we had was so ridiculous that I cannot even comprehend it.

I feel that way about NCIS. Great plots, great characters, great acting. But why do the crimes have to be so violent?

I've never heard of being able to rent with just a credit card. I wish. I could cover the rent and I have food stamps so I'd be alright but they require that you provide payslips and prove three times the rent as income and the like. It's a nightmare.
So you can't get a job without an apartment and you can't get an apartment without a job?

But I keep forgetting. You don't have Socialism in America. In my country you can get a domestic purposes benefit plus an accommodation grant and landlords are pleased to see you.

Yeah, just about every woman in the shelter who has not moved out and in with extended family has gone through the same thing. It's *hard* to have three times your rent as income as a single mom starting over.
I know moms with teens who have moved out into studio apartments. And others who have pooled their resources and moved two families into 2-bedroom apartments. I'm lucky enough to have some resources and to have found a subsidized apartment. They're few and far between...

My husband just informed me that he put a bottle of champagne in the fridge this morning. So I guess we are getting polluted tonight! Woo!
