I don't put up decorations for any holiday. I don't notice them myself and have never really understood why take out a bunch of stuff just to have to pack it all back up a month later. It was a concern of mine when my partner and I talked about having a kid - I would have to celebrate holidays. They were not serious discussions. I did point out that we did not agree much on how to raise the puppies and I predicted a kid would be worse.

You're right SD. Husband and I didn't want to this year, but we had to for the kids.

I don't decorate. My desk has a few things on it.... Lego cat, plane clock, cactai, and pictures of my kids. That's as decorative as I get.

Hey there! I piddle on the piano; not sure I would call myself a pianist. More a dabbler, a practicer, a definite amateur. Never got past John Thompson red book level 5. And my piano is the one I grew up playing. My Mom and Dad bought it in 1958 I think for about $700 (it's actually a 1951 model Baldwin Acrosonic) which was huge money to them back then. It is SO out of tune right now and paying for a tuning is not high on my budget list. Now, my oldest sister IS a pianist. She majored in piano and organ. Wish I could play like that.

I took so long to take the tree down this year that I semi-seriously considered leaving it up and changing the decorations to match the holidays. But alas! I vowed to have the tree down before Lent. An Easter egg tree would have been cute though!

I am a double reed and brass player. I started college as a music major - piano class was awful.

Easter involves dye - nothing good comes from playing with dye.

My dad forced me to play the alto sax in band. I hated it so much. I faked it every concert... And failed miserably on tests.

He's a string man. Nice. Would love to learn a stringed instrument. Cello would be my choice.

I play flute (much better than I play piano) and I sing. We are a very musical family.

They made me take piano lessons when I was in middle school. I deliberately practiced wrong in order to not learn it. I don't even really like listening to piano.
I do like the harpsichord.

Piano is my most experienced instrument. I also play the clarinet and am getting up the nerve to play a string. My husband is a cellist.

Ahh! I should leave the tree up and change it! Genius! My H may not be too happy with that suggestion haha but I like it!

haha that's great!! An experiment! I always seem to leave something out too. This year it's a big something - the big tub of tree ornaments is still sitting on the floor of the living room. I think I'll ask my son to take it out to the garage tomorrow.

Pretty colors come from playing with dye, unless you're me then new clothes colors and floor colors come from playing with dye. Ha.

He wants to learn the accordion next. He may rent one this weekend... If the store had any available right now.

I played flute in grade school, I really enjoyed it, but had to hand-me-down my flute to my sister and she got to keep it. I play acoustic guitar a little - know enough chords to play most of the songs the girl scouts sing around the campfire. it's been years since I've played though. Now that I'm going to be volunteering with GS I'm looking for a new guitar. Also, I love to sing. My son plays bass, guitar, tenor/bari sax, keyboard... I am thinking about asking my sister if she still plays it, if she doesn't, see if she'll let me have it again. I sorta want to play it again.

I thought I was tone deaf, but I just took an online test and I am not.

I would like to go longer in between debilitating and life threatening side effects from chemo drugs popping up in our life and draining her further.

I played guitar for years. I just sucked at it. I do have a nice collection of guitars though.

There is something to said for being hit by a bus or a heart attack.

I can definitely see you on double reed. My other sister and my niece played oboe. I remember when my oldest son was choosing his instrument, he was considering bassoon. The director described double reed players as intellectuals who like to work alone. Son went with saxophone (eventually barisax) instead. Totally him. Quirky, a bit of a rebel, sassy.
