So does our town, I haven't yet called the cops but I did swear at them out the window last summer... Ooops

Noise bylaw is 22:00 here. Except during a yearly event when it is extended until midnight.

I had no idea you had curfews for children in some places in the US. How is that enforced? Are the parents punished if their kids are out?

A noise ordnance sounds wonderful. I don't think that could ever work here though, especially not during the time of year when it doesn't get dark.

I just got my car stuck in our driveway in a snow bank.. Not sure how it happened really, I back down out hill fine all the time. I must not have been paying attention. Waiting for my husband to get here and either help me out or drive me to work. Not how I wanted my morning to go!

Oh no, healed. It sucks getting stuck in the snow.

It's snowing here too. Yesterday I had to drive across the city to the pediatrician's office. It took an hour to go what is usually 20 minutes. People were driving 20 in an 80... For quite a ways just to rubberneck an accident on the opposite side of the divided highway. Gah.

I asked T this morning what he means when he says that I might try to "be in a feeling". It was pretty interesting, though thinking of it now I wish I had made some followup questions, or tried to give him an actual example of what happens. Maybe I will, on Tuesday.

Ok I know this is like so random but my hair is suddenly so weird! It looks like it's filthy-dirty like I haven't washed it in a week as soon as it dries from washing it! I don't get it. I've never had this happen before. I change shampoos all the time, cuz I'm just like that, and the first couple times I used the current one my hair felt great but now suddenly it looks gross. I almost don't want to go to work, it looks so gross. I'm going to have to hide it under a hat and buy some new shampoo on the way home today. Yuck.

Artemis,

You might want to try this; I highly recommend it. It removes crappy buildup from your hair and you need to switch shampoos less often!

There is nothing like gazing out one's window on a snowy wintry day, listening to transformers blow in the distance...

I recommend checking out the no poo approach. I have been shampoo-less for several years now and it has been great. I tried it for a couple of months to see if anyone could tell - and as no one was complaining I smelled or looked odd - I finally asked my partner and my best friend and they both said if anything, my hair looked better (and did not smell).

Bonjour, canapé!

SD, how did the first few weeks of no-poo (I will never not giggle at that) go for you? I'm afraid I'll turn into a giant greasy knotted mess during the "transition phase". You said others didn't notice, but did you notice your hair getting more/less dry or greasy at the start? I'll check out those links this weekend.

I did not have the transition period many report. I have short, thin hair and that may be part of why I did not have the challenges. Plus, now that I am old, I have hair that is one the drier side rather than the greasier side. It has not seemingly been bothered one way or the other by the lack of shampoo. I do use an apple cider vinegar rinse every few weeks, but not weekly.

Some people report that long term use of baking soda damages their hair.

I really just use nothing except the vinegar rinse about every month and a half so I don't know how baking soda would fare for me. I mostly just shower and use water.

Adele (the singer) is also a no poo lass. In case you were wondering. You're welcome for the random fact of the day.

I have never heard of no poo...thanks for the links, SD. I have "scalp issues," so not sure if no poo might make them worse or totally fix them. I do already love apple cider vinegar for sure, tho!

My daughter has super thick, very curly hair. She has gone 'mostly' no-poo [uses shampoo about once a month she says) and her hair looks dramatically better.
Thanks for this!
