I live where we typically get 8 months of snow. However, in my time here July is the only month I have yet to see snow.

Can I quit my job? Really?

I could make minimum wage somewhere. I could probably get government benefits to augment that. I could actually spend time with my kids and get my schoolwork done. I could stop hating my life.

Pigs could fly. Water could fly up from the ground instead of falling down from the sky. And StressedMess could quit her job.

But it's a fun fantasy!!

It means that I read your post too quickly and misunderstood it. My error, not yours.

Hollow City was really good as well. I just don't give myself enough time to read fiction anymore.

Left work early couldn't function much more behind my desk. Tried shopping as it usually is a good distraction for me, not so today. I don't have to leave for 30 more mins for T, so I think I'm gonna get some tea and perhaps get in a cat nap.

I'm such a chicken!! I'm so unfulfilled at this job, but the wage is pretty decent, the hours too, paid leave, insurance, I could go on and on. Security has always been more important to me than happiness; strange that I don't equate the two. Security trumps happiness, always has. But, oh, for a few days of not worrying about this place!!!!

Thanks for your support!

I can relate, too. I stayed for a couple of years at a job that made me actively unhappy. Now I have a job that is expressly below the level I should be at, because I am too secure and comfortable to want to rock the boat to try and get a promotion.

Wow, you have all been busy.. I like the new couch! Our week back to school after vacation has started with 2 days of 2 hr delays because of the cold. I am so ready to get back into the our normal routine!

Good news.. I think we finally found daycare for my son, we are going to do a trial day on Friday just to see how it works and go from there. This is a huge weight off my shoulders.

For now, I am going to take a nap.. my anxiety has been terrible the last couple of days.. like, I am ready to run to the hospital bad. It is really taking a lot of energy out of me.

Holy crap.. I challenged somebody's opinion on another thread and it has snowballed.. I feel bad for the OP, though I did answer the OPs question.. It wasn't my intent to make it confrontational, but I had to say something.

Glad to hear you have a daycare trial coming up. Happy napping.

Big hugs, Granite. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

On a side note, I ADORE the number 8. I am dyslexic and 8 always looks the same no matter what and I love love love that.

I think I need to start actually wearing my glasses. I've only had them two and a half years now and I barely wear them. The prescription is pretty mild so I can see OK without them. I just find I spend a lot of times squinting these days.

I've been wearing glasses since I was 8 years old. Probably needed them sooner too but nobody noticed... I remember thinking how amazing it was to be able to actually see things that weren't right in front of me. My mother was horrified...

Horrified?

I got mine in 2012... But I only ever wear them to drive at night, at hockey games, or the dinner theatre. I can't make out the numbers on the digital clock without squinting and a large number of things have fuzzy edges. At first I thought it was sleep deprivation, but I am not sure that is the case. Wearing the glasses fixes the issue.

I'm probably reading too much into this but I just noticed that on another thread everyone else's responses but mine we're "thanked". Not that I require or expect that but my response was a what i considered a mild disagreement with a previous response and now I'm worried that my response hurt someone. I'm nervous in part because I'm choosing not to get any PM's except from mods. It was probably either an oversight or my response just wasn't that useful or didn't strike any chords particularly but I'm just hoping I didn't hurt anybody.
