That might be an idea! That's good it sounds normal. I guess it makes sense that they only want you to see them as a last resort, they might get a bit overwhelmed otherwise.

Thanks for replying, SecretGarden. That's good it could be done independantly of my parents...if it costs money, though, I'd probably need to tell them. They don't mention anything about costs on the website - I'm not sure if that's because it's free, or if the cost changes according to circumstances?

Thanks. Last session! And don't worry about being repetitive!

Yep, that's right. By the time I'd emailed my therapist, though, I had decided that I didn't want to end just yet...I'm surprised he didn't ask about that, to be honest! Last session! Probably a stupid question, but does "self advocate" mean the same as "assertive"? I've never been too good with that - spent a session on it in therapy, and it helped a bit, but I guess I've still got a ways to go. Last session! You could be right there.

They have similar attributes though sometimes being a self -advocate is knowing what YOU need and taking care of YOU and not depending on others to do so for you. Not to worry... good to work on but a skill that you can develop. You are worthy of ending therapy on your own terms...not your parents. Self advocating would be asking for those extra visits. This is just a reference for future thought.

In order to self-advocate, you often need to be assertive.

Take care.
