It's so very beautiful and peaceful. I forget everything hiking up here... it puts you so very much in the moment that the rest of the world and the rest of life doesn't exist for a short while.... it's like, a way to pause life and catch a breath times a thousand, you know?
Thanks for this!

Yikes - we're gonna hafta learn you Yiddish. Semantic rule number one probably is comparison kvetching.

You perfectly described my dilemma - if we are coping without t, then...? But - much as i hate this song - t is the wind beneath my wings right now. I look at the results. I see success and difference in how i dealt with people last week. T wrote to me from vac that it was a long time coming, it didnt happen overnight, but i worked for it.

It used to feel like these people were all on top of me, demanding of me, and all i could do was give in - now i feel like teflon. Healthy boundaries - thats what protects you from other people. They are a pleasure to exercise, and if you have them, you can truly enjoy other people who also have them.

Eta - it was kind of interesting to be able to "see" peoples boundaries at the events last week - i never had them myself before, so i couldnt tell the difference in others.
Thanks for this!

Yeah, boundaries... My SIL texted me this morning telling me (!) that she was coming to visit me and the kids and she'd be at the airport Wednesday morning.
Yeah, right girl. You have fun at that airport.

The desert somehow seems more dangerous than woods for hiking with dogs. So full of pokey thing to stick them. I have never been to Arizona - although I have always wanted to go to new mexico for the Santa Fe opera festival.

My old dog is having to take 6 pills a day for 10 days to clear up an infection . Pup is not supposed to eat old dog's pills. Old dog hates taking pills and picks them out of every sort of food I try to hide them in - pup will eat anything. It has been a long week.

Yes, it is a very common expression. That doesn't mean that it is empty of meaning.

AARRRGGGHHH! I swear if i have to spend another minute in the company of my ex I will do something drastic. We just went to a parent-teacher night and my youngst sometimes forgets to go to her extra class in numeracy and my ex was going on about her being truant. She wasn't truant she was still attending her set class just not the extra numeracy class. I tried to explain what truancy was and that it has a very specific legal meaning and if he strts using words like that around her (and he will) it wont do her self esteem any good.

Hankster -I thought you were just playing around.

I did not like the movie yentl. I am not a huge b streisand fan. I did enjoy the remake of hello dolly with her as dolly levi.
