I was anti science in school because I am so horrible at math (which I have found am okay with once it has a concrete purpose) (building stuff - making a dugout canoe, measuring poisonous substances in food prep. etc).
But in middle age - my inner science experiment power tool loving self is free to play around.

I dreaded the post part of my mother because I knew it meant dealing with my sibling's spouse - who I despise. But, suprisingly, he left evil freaky spouse at home and we got along okay.

Why Google is not my friend:

Searching: victim mentality, self-shaming, and perpetual seeking of outside validation.

Results: narcissism.

Fantastic!!

Google *is* stupid. Narcissism is blame others, shame others, demand outside validation as if it is a god-given right, all while taking responsibility for absolutely nothing.

I don't think robots should be given human faces or anything that resembles human features. Honda's Asimo I can tolerate Toyotas receptionist robot who looks like a human freaks me out. I think its Toyotas receptionist robot its been awhile since i looked a it.
Just saw that there is hotel in Japan staffed by robots

Wow, they really call it the Asimo? After finishing rereading all of Asimov's robot stuff a month or two ago, that kinda creeps me out.

Been back home again for about 4 hours, did grocery shopping, cleaned up the kitchen (an almost 17 year old male can take good care of himself in all areas but cleaning up after himself when he cooks ahaha! you should have seen my stove! and he wasn't even here most of the time we were gone!) and almost done with the laundry from the trip. But I feel very well-rested, it's funny, we did a LOT of hiking and walking and I was bushed when we fell into bed each night, but I feel so refreshed!

I'll post my progress here since I can't elsewhere . . .

One of the things I noticed this last week -- through my mom's stroke, the stress of the air conditioning going out, being sick for several days -- is that I've really internalized how to handle stress without completely derailing like I once would have. In the past, I would have gotten really anxious or depressed almost immediately, but I really didn't have any problems out of proportion to what was going on. And I didn't have to talk myself through it even where I've had to do that before. It is a nice feeling to be able to just kind of naturally take care of myself now.
Thanks for this!

I've been making my own kombucha for a couple years now. Homemade is so much better than store bought. It's so fresh and vibrant. It gets better with each batch, too. I took some in for my therapist to taste and she couldn't believe how zippy and flavorful it was.

(I let it brew for 14 days, bottle, and then let it sit for two days to let it get fizzy. Then I refrigerate.)

No idea. I've never had a dog that was a digger. My sister had two beagles who were notorious for burying things. She once bought them sweaters in the winter and the sweaters just disappeared. They found them months later buried in the flower beds. Have you researched online about it?
Thanks for this!

When I was younger, we had a dog, she was not a digger but... that does remind me of a funny story. One New Years Eve our parents went out to some party and left us 4 kids at home with the dog. We had a bag of chips and some sour cream and onion dip, and a frozen pizza. Well, in the course of our "party" the dog got into the sour cream & onion dip and had it all over her face, looked like she was foaming at the mouth, and later we found a slice of pizza covered up with the little blanket in her bed that she was "saving for later".
Thanks for this!

Art I love stories like that.
Haven't looked online but I was thinking we have a kitty litter tray that we used as his bed when he was smaller maybe if we put sand or fine kitty litter that might suffice.

Years ago I had a shepherd that buried bones etc.. but he was an outside dog so it was no big deal.

I think it's just hysterical that he's burying bones in couch cushions and laundry baskets! Poor little guy... I'll bet he can't help but need to bury things!

And speaking of burying stories... right now all I have is a cat, but he's quite picky about his poo. He's got extremely long hair, and sometimes little dingleberries will stick to his bottom hair and fall off outside of his litter box. He is so funny. He gets dryer sheets, a sock laying on the floor, ANYthing to cover it up. Those things are not near as satisfying to him as covering it up with litter, though, so he just keeps pawing at it, moving things around, trying to get satisfied that he's done it proper. Cracks me up.
