I think i may withdraw from the program as that much time not taking calls will impact my own stats. Ugh. I am back wanting to come in do only the job they pay me to do the olympian thing doesn't increase my pay, only my responsibilities. Am i wrong to feel this way, when the sup hasn't even trained us yet on what is expected? Sigh. I wanna go back on vaca.

I have a few thoughts on this:

1. I usually get stressed about new opportunities because I think I'll fall short, so I come up with reasons why it's not a good idea. When I push past that, though, and tell myself to be curious, I often find rewards and opportunities I didn't expect. So maybe just keep in mind that there could be other benefits to this opportunity that will further your career, unless you know that your employer is craven and takes advantage of people like this. In which case, that's an easy decision.

2. Is there a supervisor or someone you can talk to about your concerns regarding lower stats? Maybe your new status makes allowances for changes in stats or offsets them somehow. Unless you've heard that it has a negative impact, it might be less of an issue than you think. Or, maybe a mentor or supervisor can tell you how to manage those meetings without taxing your stats.

3. If you have your sights set on higher income and position, be clear about that with your higher ups. I had a boss who loved to know what someone wanted to do long term and was great about pointing out the ways to get there. If being on the Olympian Team isn't something that will get you where you want to go, it would be good to know that up front. It also alerts those above you to the fact that you want to move up so that they can keep you in mind for advancement. Depending on how big your company or business is, they might not even know what your plans are.

My brother (he's in the Army) travels a LOT for his job and Turkey is his favorite place to go. And that boy has been EVERYwhere! He even spent a summer mission trip (between his previous and current Army stints) in Papua New Guinea. He really loved that too, being so absolutely off-grid.

When I was in Asissi a few years back, we watched a beautiful thunderstorm out the open window of our hotel (it was a very old building that didn't have actual glass windows, just wooden shutters over the window, and we opened the shutters to smell the rain and watch the lightening it was magical!)

Thanks Leah and Ruh roh for your thoughts about my work situation. I do have a good rapport with my supervisor so I think I will discuss this with him tomorrow. I feel like I can trust him with my thoughts and doubts. It might just be my own fears of being incompetent clouding what's really true. I need to just push past it and continue. Seems like everyone who gets promoted, has at one time or another been in this program so I need to overcome myownself and just DO it. Thank you both again for helping me see through myself a little better....

Finally taking the horse back riding trip with my daughter that I promised her during her grueling month plus long course of day hospitalization for physical therapy. We are at my favorite horse back riding spot I know and tomorrow morning we head out to let her ride through the canyons for the first time.

On the here, however, my muffler blew a hole in it and the heat was apparently directed up onto the truck bed. The heat was trapped by this luggage container I just got and My bedliner melted. Not sure if I should try go have the muffler fixed locally or just not have the luggage thingie in the bed.

I don't mind them in theory - but with a puppy who needs to get energy out and an old dog who gets depressed if he does not get his walk and hotspots if he gets wet - rain is not our friend at walktime.

How cute!!!! My cat (the same one that loves to swipe the magnets off the fridge) loves playing with crumpled-up candy wrappers - especially the foil ones from hershey's kisses. If you make a little ball out of a few, he will entertain himself for a solid 20 minutes sometimes batting it around the house, grabbing it in his claws and "throwing" it and then chasing it it's so funny to watch! Every time we have moved, we always find half a dozen under the couch lol

Hi, couch.

I am home from CVS and wide awake. I ended up taking a nap earlier, so now I am not tired. Drat.

I really need to get my sleep schedule situated before school job starts again.

I need to call my grandma tomorrow. She called me 6 times in the 4 hours I was working at CVS asking me to call her because she wanted to get lunch before school started. Impatient...really...call 6 times?!? And really it was less than 4 hours because the last call came in 2 hours before I was off. So she technically called 6 times in 2 hours. Geez.

I am hungry now. Too late to cook though. So I need to find chips or something like that to snack on. Then to force myself to sleep. I have to be at C's at 8am.

I wish I was not allergic to cats!!! Oh well, a darling little kitty would probably try eating our birds or gerbils, or my boxer, lol, who is nothing more than an overgrown prey animal for all her brawn.
