Apparently cutting their "over" coat can cause it not to grow back, and their "under" coat gets long and wild. Ah, well, to the groomers we will go. As soon as I convince the girls!

I hope the repair guys got the AC working again for you. I would have to take the dogs (or at least my two older dogs one is really heat sensitive and the other is elderly) to a friend's house. Me and the pup would have to sweat it out alone.

Evening couch.

Been a busy/long couple of days.

The schedule for the first week of school was posted at CVS today (then pharm manager has been off and forgot to post it on Sunday). Well...he made a booboo and scheduled me to start at 4:00 one day. I do not get out of my other job until 4:30, then have to drive in school traffic to get to CVS, so say I could be there at 5:00. He seemed surprised when I pointed it out to him. He was like: "I put you on that early after the 10th?" Haha, absentminded.

I also think he is trying to "kill" me. The week school is back in, he has me scheduled 36 hours. Haha. I don't mind, it means more money (not that money is everything...but I do need to make a cushion for those times expenses come up unexpectantly). Have to see what the week after holds.

I know he was "complaining" earlier this month because corporate gave him how many hours he has to schedule to meet quota based on last years sales for the fall. Even if he scheduled everyone 40 hours, he still would not meet quota, so he requested to hire another tech or 2 and corporate denied the request. They told him to just borrow techs from other stores if he needed more bodies. He's appealing the decision though and our store manager is fighting alongside him. I don't see why he couldn't hire 2 more part-time techs. They wouldn't get benefits, and whether it is a new employee or a current one, they are still paying for the labor.

In other news. The pharm manager was unable to alter shifts and get somone to cover mine, since I worked on Monday for a co-worker and was already at 40 hours. He said today that they would just pay me overtime. I guess I will find out what overtime pays when I get the paycheck for this pay period. I'm thinking it is probably time and a half, but it will be interesting to see. The pharm manager will be on vacation in Canada (where he is from), so the store manager will have to over-ride my clock-in punch. The pharm manager warned me that the store manager probably would not be happy, but to just remind him that the pharm manager had not choice because the baby was born this week.

Chris, I am glad your mom is doing well.

Hank, speak up about your mother's things. You should have a say in the matter.

Well, I need to go eat supper and take my evening meds. Catch ya later, couch.
Hugs from:

It didn't stop working until about 3PM, so the guy can't get out here until tomorrow morning. Dogs will be fine. We're eating lots of ice cream and have lots of fans. We'll live.

Just talked to t a little bit ago, I ratted myself out to her a little I don't know quite how we got on the subject of how I feel about her other clients, but I told her the clipboard story - how when she was still here in town that one day I went into the waiting room and there was a clipboard on the table with her business card on it and forms, and I wanted to throw it on the floor and stomp on it and say "No! She's mine!" lol I said "of course, I didn't." We both got a good laugh out of that.

Hello couch!

No therapy at all for 2 weeks and the sad thing is, I'm not missing it at the moment. I need a break for a change both mentally and financially.

Oddly, CBT T wants me to email him my accomplishments/goals we discussed..while he is on vacation?? So confusing but glad to have him offer it at least.

Hope everyone is doing ok in the heat.

Squirrel, I admire your industriousness. You get a lot done --maybe if I write it out like you do I wouldn't sweep my need-to-do-list under the rug!
Thanks for this!

Hi couch. Hope all are well. The heat's got us too, surprisingly. Longest heat spell, and warmest, I've experienced in 15 years in Washington, and I do think about my dog too, she has heart failure, so it's harder on her but we try and keep her cool and she too stays close to the fan.

Wishing a cooling breeze to all who need one.
Thanks for this!

oh yeah how could i have forgotten to share this?? i think i've almost started to believe that t is really finally moving back here. (yay!) she talked about it a little again today. yay! We worked on one of my recent dreams that she was in and I told her more about my reiki stuff, I really enjoyed sharing that with her, and hahaha I now know I am not the only one who thinks my sessions go by way too fast. At 5:03 she said oh no did we run over again? I hadn't even noticed til she said that and I looked at the clock. She said "it goes by so fast!" I was like you're telling ME? it was a good session today. I got a lot out of the dream work, where I need to go with it working with it on my own.

Hi, couch.

I should be getting to bed soon, but I am not tired. I don't have to be at work until 10:45 tomorrow morning, so I can afford to be up a little longer. Last day shift for the summer (on a weekday). I only work evenings and weekends starting Saturday. Back to my school schedule.

I had to do dr. office calls at CVS today. Technically the pharmacist is supposed to do them, but he delegated it to me (third time this week). We usually fax drs when patients need more refills if the patient asks us to. If we don't hear back after 2 days, we send a 2nd fax. If we don't hear back 2 days after that, we call to follow up to see if the fax was received and to see if we can get a verbal refill approval, or the request is denied. I had to call my pdocs office for one of them. I already knew the answer, as I know his policy on phone in refills...but I still had to call to make the computer register it as a call and be happy. Of course it was denied. Pdoc has a sign in his office that you must have an appointment to obtain refills. The patient requesting the refills should have known this, but oh well. Drs are much easier to deal with than patients when we call them... I am the go-to person for the pharm manager when it comes to phone calls. Whether it is patients or drs. I don't know how I got this classification, I am just good on the phone I guess.

that's great squirrel, it sounds like you've really got the pharm manager's respect! i've been on projects at the pharmacy i work at in the past, where we talked to dr's offices about prior authorizations. yes, dr's offices are much easier to deal with than patients!

Artemis- You reminded me that I had a dream this week that I wondered if it was therapy related. Dreamt that a spectacled cobra (specific, I know!) wrapped around my left arm then sunk its fangs into my left hand. As the venom spread, I snapped its lower body in half yet it still clung to me. Are all snake dreams phallic in nature? (sigh)

I read a snake biting you in a dream meant good luck, i don't know what happens when you break the luck-giver in half. Only half the luck??

Morning, couch.

I am up early. Woke up about 6am and could not get back to sleep. I tried, but after laying in bed for an hour, I finally rolled out about 7 and took a shower. Now I am here. Don't have to leave for work until 10, so I have some time to chill.

Longish shift today (9.5 hours). Normal shift tomorrow for overtime. But still extra money. It will be interesting to see how much CVS pays for overtime. I will find out on the 7th when I get the check that included this week in it.

If it were my dream, I would wonder if snake is trying to alert me to something in my waking life that I'm not aware of yet. Snakes to me also represent transformations because they shed their skins on a regular basis. Yes they can bite and they can be poisonous, but they're not always bad and they're not always phallic in nature either. Isn't there a snake on that one symbol for doctors? I forget what it's called. I love dream work!!

Yes, it's called the caduceus.

Why Is the Medical Symbol a Snake on a Stick?

But also the Rod of Asclepius, which apparently is the more appropriate symbol...

Hey, couch, it's Friday! Friday didn't used to mean much to me, but my newspaper's deadline is Thursday, I get paid Friday, I have less weekend work at my job and a weekly date with hubby, and NO homework. Sunday was all homework day for a while there.

So... anyone up for a couch party? (Gets up and dances.)

For the anti-dancers or those who don't like the song.... here's a quiz....

What type of witch are you?

Mine is: "You are Endora from "Bewitched!" You are sassy, classy, and full of charm. Despite your calm, sophisticated exterior, you are brimming with power — and you're not afraid to use it! You have little patience for dumb mortals — but if you love someone, you protect them with all your might. You are a force to be reckoned with!

Glinda - that was completely to be expected lol

"You are Glinda from "The Wizard of Oz!" You are elegant, refined, and kind-hearted. But people shouldn't be fooled by your calm, sweet exterior! You are strong, powerful, and sharp as a tack. Your wisdom and fierceness always shines through, and people should think twice before crossing you."

Last week t rescheduled today's appointment from 4pm, to 8am. I gave him a hard time about him being there on time. This morning 15 mins before my appointment he texts me and reschedules to our normal time of 4.. An hour later he texts me again and says he promises he didn't reschedule because he slept in. And he would explain today... I am curious as to his reason. It's not a big deal because my kids are with my mil all day. However, I feel like I get yanked around a lot about rescheduling appointments.. And it's not always easy to change time for childcare.. I can't tell if I am frustrated with him or not!

Glad the a/c is back on.
We have had the power go off almost every summer after strong storms and it is no fun to swelter. (and my dog really does go to a friend's house because of how miserable he gets in temps over 80 degrees)

Well, the temperature inside the house got up to 88, but now it's on it's way back down -- currently reading 82. Progress. I'll be glad when the sun goes down and the air can really catch the rest of the way up. This time of day it's a losing battle.

Was he on time for the 4 o'clock appointment, Healed? I would not handle having my scheduled changed that often very well.

Glad your AC is working, Chris. Stopdog, I have taken the cat with immune issues with me to the office when our AC went out because he doesn't deal well with heat. I don't think it is that unusual to accommodate our pets' comfort more than our own, is it?

My horse was seriously injured over the weekend, and for a while we did not know if her injury was going to be fixable or something she would live through. She is out of danger and I should not be as depressed as I am about the whole thing, I don't think. She will be fine and I didn't do anything wrong. I still feel like a horrible partner and like I should quit riding. Also my mother has been an absolute pill lately. She was rude to my daughter and then called to ***** at me that my daughter was rude back to her. She did not understand why my daughter would do such a thing and thought my daughter had no right to be upset, either about the current rudeness or the past. She did not think she had done anything wrong ever. So I explained to what she had done wrong and the things that my D was upset about, part of which involves how my mother treats me. My mother pointed out that she had to take advantage of me and treat me badly because it was necessary in order for her to get what she wanted. I had money and my sisters didn't, so she felt justified in requiring me to buy things of my father's from her after his death, while giving things to my sisters, for example. She was justified in refusing to admit to anyone other than me that she knew my BIL stole from me, because she needed him to like her so he would do more things for her, etc. She seemed bewildered that I would be upset by these things because clearly they were necessary in order for her to get her way or for her life to be easier. Then she proceeded to tell my younger sister that I had said horrible things about my younger sister, trying to get my younger sister to join her in being angry at me and excluding me from family functions again.

Is it horrible to admit how jealous I am of Hankster that her mother died? I am beginning to think my ****ing ***** of a mother is never going to ****ing die.
