I don't tend to notice during session, but afterwards I can reflect back and see that T has said something out of character. With my t there is a sense I get later that she didn't come across as compassionately as she usually does and she was less 'with me' when she has her off days.

Idk if that's her having a bad day, but I think it is.

What do you notice with your t?
Thanks for this!

I notice she is a little more 'closed'. She doesn't seem herself. Usually if she's having a bad day when I walk in she tells me she's having a bad day and why.

Well, it's only happened once with one of them - they're both good that way. In that case, she was running late all day (uncharacteristic) and she seemed extremely tense. But she didn't treat me any differently than usual.

A few months later I learned what had caused the bad day, and it was much more than just everything going wrong that day. Which made the fact she managed to stay calm when dealing with me even more impressive.

With my ex-T I noticed after her long summer break that she seemed different, kind of more relaxed, I thought she looked healthier.

I am on a break now with my current T. We didn't have a good last session. I wonder if the upcoming break affected her, I don't know how she felt about it, but I wonder with hindsight if she had some emotions about it that affected her. She quite possibly doesn't know how I felt about it as we managed to not talk about the break at all. She's a pretty good T, so it felt uncharacteristic of her not to have discussed something so significant.

Mine was swearing a lot yesterday. He said he was tired - he only got 7 hours sleep. I thought that was hilarious. I usually get 5 or 6.
I don't mind the swearing. As long as it's not at me

T1 never tells me he's having a hard day, but like you, I think about it after session and notice that he was more firm and to the point with me. But that could be because I needed it for that issue, he was indeed having a bad day, or just my own stuff coming in. I never ask.

I don't think my T has many bad days. She looks like such a happy and secure person. Usually she looks the same at every session. There has been a session in which I got the feeling she wasn't ''here'' so much. She played with her rings and turned her chair a bit and took a look out of the window. I can't remember if she has done that before, paying with her rings. It bothered me a bit. I felt like I was boring her and that she didn't really wanted to see me.

My old one used to sometimes say snappish or mean things when she was in a bad mood. Things like "if you worry all the time about losing people, you'll end up all alone," or "did you expect me to be at the hospital with you?" When I was hurt she didn't answer my text for almost a week after surgery. It was painful since I am very sensitive and I loved her.

Most of the reason why my last session was rough was because my T was not fully "there". I always pick up on this and I don't feel as close to her and can't open up or talk, so it effects my therapy. Thankfully I asked her about it and she told me why she was off. I felt so much better and I was able to open up and talk the rest of the session.

The first time I saw her after a few year break was really awful. She was clearly having a bad day. She was was late and my session started late, she didn't seem like she was listening to me and then rushed me out the door without asking for payment or to schedule another appointment. That only happened once, thank god because that would have been a deal breaker for me.

Omg if I could get 7 hours I normally get 3.

Also when my psychologist is in a bad mood he doesn't really do anything different sometimes he will say so but I don't really notice anything.

I knew something was up with ex T as things felt off for months. Turns out she was super stressed and busy at work and I felt it.

My T has been very consistent in being fully present. But she does have days where she is off. Her off days consist of talking about herself a lot, and making off the wall comments.

I have never noticed she was having a bad day. After the fact I have found our about things. .but never knew about it at the time. Recently she said things at the end of a Couple of sessions about things going on in her personal life so I know she has been struggling but it didn't effect our sessions

I have found my T's to be very consistent in their mood and I almost never notice variation in them that way. They only time I've noticed a difference with my current T was actually due to illness or physical pain. I've seen him while I knew he was in the midst of serious personal crisis like an ill parent, etc., and never saw a difference our sessions. But when his back goes out on him, I can see his physical pain in how he sits, etc.

Ex-T told me how I could identify when she was having a bad day. She told me she always puts her hair up when she had a bad day. She had quite a few bad days. Only sometimes was it noticeable by her behavior.

sometimes T will tell me if he is having a stressful day, but he doesn't act different in session because of it.

When he seems snappy. I don't know if it's at me, or just him being a ****.

Never seen any thing to warrant me coming to such a conclusion. I've discussed how I feel AS IF she's off. She says 'go on' when I say that and then we get into the root of my thinking that.
But T herself had never brought the outside into the session. She's to we'll trained. I see her sitting looking inside of herself, her registering what is going on and why that maybe. But it's always in the context of the work.
