My cousin who was flooded out of her house Memorial Day weekend had to evacuate again today. A tornado also demolished a house two doors down from my aunt last night. Not good.

This is what my family is contending with. Another concern is that our band is traveling to San Antonio to compete tomorrow and has to get through this area to get there. If I35 remains open, it is still going to be a long, slow nightmare of a drive. |

They went in today and removed all of the furnishing from the 1st floor of their house again, including literally removing the bottom kitchen cabinets. They just finished repairing the house from the flood Memorial weekend. I don't think water is up to the house yet, but it probably will be overnight. People traveling from Dallas to San Antonio are saying it is taking almost 8 hours to make the drive (normally about a 5 hour drive).

Husband and I had kind of a bad fight on the way home from date night (daughter is sleeping over at my mom's). It seems kind of silly, but the main topic was how we each deal with traffic. I tend to panic if I'm stuck in traffic on a highway (since you can't really escape) and had some really bad panic issues last month coming back from a vacation. Like, having to pull over on a major highway bad. I do better if it's traffic lights because those have a set start and end. While H gets frustrated with traffic lights, like he gets angry about them. And then I feel bad because I chose to take the traffic light route instead of the backed-up highway (this is when we checked traffic beforehand), so I figure he's mad at me. I tried to explain that sometimes I'm already annoyed at myself for taking a certain route, so even if he's just annoyed at other drivers or traffic lights, I assume he's annoyed with me. And then he's annoyed that I think he's mad at me. I just wish he understood anxiety and depression more...

Tonight before the football game at son's school, they had the parents of the seniors that are in Band and in sports walk out on the field with their students and took pictures and the kids each got a medal for their sport or band. It was really cool. I didn't feel the least bit shy about walking out there proudly with my son on my arm and posing for pics in front of the small crowd that was there for the game. I am SO proud of my son!!! He's going to be 17 on Monday, I can't believe it, I love him so much and I must have fought back tears of pride and love and everything else a mom can feel at least a dozen times while we were there. I looked at him out there tonight in his band uniform having the time of his life and I thought, even in my messed-up head I can see it, I have done a good job as a Mom raising him!!

It's going to be a fun day. We are live streaming the Bands of America San Antonio SuperRegional marching contest all day. Have to get my band fix. Later my hubby and I are going to see a movie and then we'll return home in time to see the finals.

Hi, couch.
Wow, I haven't been on in a while and missed a lot. Too much to catch up. So, I decided to just jump back in here. Got my Halloween goodie bags done by staying up until 1am on Tuesday and 2am on Wednesday. The kids loved them. I was off from CVS last night, so I chaperoned my school's fall festival. No issues. The kids were behaved and had fun. I dressed up. I was a last minute costume finder though and didn't go to the store until Wednesday after CVS, so all they had that was school appropriate and fit me was Elsa from Frozen. Complete with a wig. One of the autistic class kids were there with her mom (parents were not supposed to stay, but the school made an exception for her). She was dressed as Anna from Frozen. Her mom asked to get a picture of us together since we were "sisters". She's supposed to email it to "Anna's" teacher to get a copy to me. I am staying home tonight (no CVS again). I am just trying to decide if I want to put my costume on again to greet kids at the door. I might as well get 2 uses out of it. ![]() I have CVS tomorrow, 8 hour shift, but I don't have to be there until noon, so I can sleep in and rest after being up handing out candy tonight. And the time changes, so I will gain even an extra hour. Well, I am hungry, so I should eat. Later couch. |

Husband leaves tomorrow. He's pouting right now and I feel like I need to fix it. Make him feel better. I want to crawl in a hole and not come out.

Hugs to those who need/want them.
I stood up to my husband twice today. It feels really good. The first time, he started giving me grief about going to t every week this past month. I told him to get over it because it was needed and I did really good work this month and then I walked away. And then the 2nd time we were talking about our son's birthday Monday and we're giving him money because that's what he wants and he was talking about setting up some stupid "envelope" system where he would have to solve stupid math problems to get to the envelope with the most money in it. I'm like this is supposed to be a birthday present - NOT some dumb math lesson. He's gonna be 17, for heaven's sake. He's old enough to understand we've had money issues in the past, is well aware of the bankruptcy we went through, and if he played some stupid envelope game with him I KNOW my son, he would purposely take the one with the least money because he would think that's what we wanted him to do. So I told hubby this is how I feel about it, I think it's a bad idea, and he got a little miffed at me at first but then I explained why I felt that way and he relented. Now we just have to agree on the amount of money. It may seem like two little things but to me they were both very emotional subjects that usually I just cry and relent but I didn't this time and I am proud of me. |

Hmm... depends on what kind of sandwich... pastrami on rye?
But then id be worried about arsenic poisoning. I maybe watch too much Perry Mason. Is he trying to get out of child support or whats his motive? Is it our fault for marrying men dumber than us? Sorry, than we? Cuz then they get SO MAD at us for being who we are. |
