Granite, you just are going through a REALLY hard time right now, please don't beat yourself up for not feeling other people's care for you. It is really hard to do (impossible?) when you hate yourself so much. That doesn't mean it isn't true or even that you don't appreciate it, but when you feel so, so terrible about yourself, it can be impossible to let that care in.

I was talking a little bit to my T yesterday about how I really don't want to go to this roller derby practice tonight (my 2nd time, and its something i have wanted to try for YEARS but have been too afraid to do it), because the voice inside of me is screaming at me "YOU DON'T DESERVE TO FEEL GOOD." She said that voice is trying to destroy me one bit at a time, and I need to tell it to shut up I said it isn't that easy, and she knows it isn't, but I said I'd try. So, maybe you could try to?
hi velcroo its good to hear from you . did you end up going to your derby. that sounds like so much fun

Maybe the put on the a/c to cover the sound of the "other stuff" they don't want their neighbours to hear.

Yeah. I used to live in an old apartment building w very thin floors and walls and i could hear everything my downstairs neighbor did, including hearing him pee! I think i lived there one year only cuz of that.

We do that here. Our house has zero cross-ventilation, so without the AC going, it's stuffy inside, even if it is cool outside.

I'm in a major crochet mood right now, making hats because this pretty basic one is really easy and quick, so I can make several in one day and feel very accomplished. I just finished this one for one of my work friends, photographed on the rocks in my backyard. I'm searching Ravelry right now for something a little different to work on next.
Thanks for this!

I know that might not be the same as what you're talking about--just made me think of it. You might be referring more to a lack of motivation thing, which I also have issues with...

It's the same thing. I want to tell my friend how important she is to me but... Yeah, same thing

I highly doubt it. Downstairs neighbors are an extended family (mom, two grown sons, daughter-in-law and grand baby) all living in a 2 bed apartment. Besides, they've been running it like that all week.

um...you realize your very description indicates there's been plenty of "other stuff" going on in that family for years now?

Of course, it also gives an idea why they might need the a/c on. Too many people, too little space!

Yeah, I was just mostly annoyed that their a/c woke me up - it's right outside my window and it rattles

I saw on pbs today how to a) work beads into a crochet hat - tres cute! And b) how to do cablestitch with crochet. On that one, you work the hat from the bottom up rather than the usual top down. I might make my own ribbed headband now.

Ugh. Peri menopause blows. My feet are freezing, but turning the heat on makes it more like bathing in lava. Is there a happy medium?

Goodnight couch.

Hi, couch.

I am home from CVS and fed.

I managed to construct and send the pdoc email before heading out today. Now to wait and see if I get a response. Pdoc is weird, sometimes he responds, sometimes he doesn't.

The day pharm today talked me into a flu shot. Corporate sets quotas for each store weekly based on their hours and location. Our store has only met quota once since Sept. Usually we are 30-40 away, today we were 1 away 10 minutes before cutoff, so I was talked into one and agreed, so we met quota. They set our quota so high, it's usually around 130ish for the week. That's a lot of flu shots in one week.

I just hope I don't end up getting the flu from it.

Have a meeting at school in 2,5 hr. T is attending. My lack of nervousness - which is carelessness, really, can't-be-bothered-ness - makes me nervous.

Cause what do you say when you just don't care anymore?

Cool! I did cablestitch a LONG time ago in a square for a sampler-type afghan, but that was the only time, sounds interesting for a hat! Share a pic when you make the headband eh?

Got questions for y'all.

Is it ok to go to an interview even if you're not sure anymore if you want the job?

Is it ok to ask for 24 hours to think about whether or not you want to take the job?

Ugh! Im so confused.

Yes, I think it's fine to go with both of these considerations.
I have interviewed people in the past who have needed to think before accepting or declining, it was fine.

Meeting at school went well. I can return to class. I wasn't worried about that.. turned out I should've been, according to my parents. (they were afraid they couldn't give me the care I need.. turned out that on the points they thought I needed care, I don't)

Thanks. It just feels kind of ridiculous to do that for a small restaurant job but I gotta start keeping my options open or I'll never get anywhere. And at my current job I might be putting myself in a position to move up if GM goes ahead with what another manager and I talked about. However, I wont find that out until later tonight.

Maybe think of it as information gathering... Good luck!
