I've been having nothing but nightmares and borderline-nightmares for the last week. Last night's was about getting the car fixed again (except it was a truck for some reason...) and it costing me over $1000. Night before had something to do with a fire.
Filed a police report on the stbx yesterday. He's been warned twice and he keeps harassing me so time to bring out the big guns. I'm terrified all it's gonna do is make him angry though:/
And I'm afraid that I'm going to lose T when I get a full time job... I mentioned it yesterday in session... He didn't give me any solid answers and I know how busy he is...

Hi couchies!
Hope you all had a reasonably good day.
Artie glad you had a great time at the concert.

Now I got a question for you all: Would you write a dissatisfaction letter to your doctors office if you really felt he dropped the ball? I have been in pain for two months and have seen him three times. He's done nothing but guess based on symptoms that I have carpal tunnel and tennis elbow and throw pills and braces at it. The third time he gave me Lyrica and told me I needed to see an orthopedic surgeon. The surgeon he gave me doesnt take my insurance so I picked one from my insurance list. When I called and scheduled the appt the secretary asked me 3-4 times what, if any testing he(my doctor) had done and was quite surprised each time I said nothing. I'm only going to the surgeon because Im desperate for answers and its become quite apparent my doctor is not up for that task! Im so frustrated...I hate my doctor right now. I've missed so much work because of this pain and its not fair to them to not have any answers. He knows this and still does nothing. I am one PISSED OFF woman! What would you do?

(((Dd))) Just for comparison, i sprained my back at the end of June, to where i thought i had kidney problems! My dr and his staff were like, no no, but its gonna take 3 months to feel better. And thats how long it took. From a one-time injury. Yours is a repetitive injury. This is why they say a sprained ankle can be worse than a broken ankle. Muscle injuries are trickier. Not saying your dr didnt mess up, but are your expectations reasonable?

I've read up on carpal tunnel and tennis elbow...mostly carpal tunnel. One: it happens over a LONG period of time not a month and a half at work; two: it takes more than a guess to dx it; three: if he really believes his treatment should work maybe his dx is off base and he should take a second look not just throw me away to another dr because he is to damn lazy to take the time to do so himself. Hopefully my ortho surgeon has a higher sense of responsibility to truly figure out what this is than my dr.

Write your letter straight away, but don't send it until you're felling better.

Hi, couch.

I am home from CVS and trying to get tired to go to bed. Have to be back at CVS at 8:30am. Which means leaving home at 8am. I really should get to bed. I am too pissed to though. Stopped to eat after getting off work and had next to the worst service I have ever had in a restaurant. I was seated quickly, but then I sat at the table for 15 minutes before I flagged down a waitress to ask if she knew who my server was and where they were. 5 more minutes go by and my waitress finally gets to the table. Then, it takes her another 10 minutes to bring out my Coke and bread. Then she disappears. Another server brought my soup and salad to the table. Another server picked up my dirty soup and salad plates when I was done. Another server brought out my main dish. I sat and waited for 10 minutes for a drink refill before another waiter alerted my waitress that it was empty. I wait 15 minutes after I am finished eating before flagging down another waitress to find mine to bring the check. After she brings the check she doesn't come back for another 10 minutes to pick it back up. Then she disappears for 15 minutes with my credit card before bring the receipt to sign to the table. I was in the restaurant for nearly 2 hours due to my waitress' carelessness. I wanted a box for my left overs but after asking for one, I waited 5 minutes and it never came. By this point I was p i s s e d and just left. It's not like the restaurant was busy or crowded. I was not a happy camper when I left and I tipped accordingly. I am not usually one to do that, but good gracious was I annoyed. I got a survey on my reciept too. Normally I ignore them as I know "bad" surveys hurt the store/restaurant. At CVS the scale is 1-5 for the questions and 5 is the best, but if even one question gets a 4 rating from a customer, the store is docked points by corporate. I assume it is similar other places. Anyways...my experience sat so unwell with me tonight, I did the survey when I got home and ripped my server up one side and down the other. Hopefully she will be talked to.

I am supposed to be off on Sunday, but I may end up working. A co-worker who is on Sunday evening asked tonight if I could fill in for her as she was scheduled to work late 6 nights in a row and needed a night off. I agreed as long as the pharm manager was okay with it. She is supposed to ask him when she works tomorrow. I also work tomorrow, but I am not going to ask for her. She's the one who wants to give away the shift, she needs to get it okayed.

Well, I should get to bed. I have to wake up and get ready to leave by 8am tomorrow. Night couch.

New job = moving again= new T

Pros
new team at job means I'd be starting with the "new regime"
Company I work for is like pepsi, this other company is like Coca cola
I would get to manage another direct report again
Most likely more $$$$$$$$ as this co has deeper pockets than my current one
Lower cost of living in new city I'd be headed to
Would be able to rent cheaply and drive down my debt faster

Cons
Saying goodbye to Sparky/having to get a new T
Having to move for the millionth time
Xtreme Hot weather and I don't mix
Dust storms bad for asthma
New department at co does not seem to know what it is doing
Having to get new doctors, apt, utilities
Will I always be known at "Coke" for being "That girl from Pepsi"?

Thoughts welcome!! Sooooo torn

I would personally first get more assertive face to face with the doctor and be clear that I am not satisfied with my pain management. Your dr may be busy and unaware of how your treatment isn't enough

If he is still unresponsive I'd find a new doctor. Not sure if a letter does a lot.
Thanks for this!

Get a written offer naming your new salary before you make a decision.

One option is to ask for a raise and/or promotion from "Pepsi". (Don't tell them you've got a job offer from "Coke"!) Just say that you've reached a point in your career where you "need more responsibility" and that you've proved yourself in your current role and are ready for the next challenge.

And if you don't like their answer, Coke is it.

Why, oh why does sleep hate me so much? I would give anything for a nightmare, flashback, emotion free sleep. Even just for a couple of hours. How am I supposed to keep functioning this way? Rather how on earth have I been? Gah.

SPECULATION:

Therapists are used to being loved and hated and should have skills and toughness to deal with both. But I wonder if I loved and hated Madame T more than she could cope with? I am intense and persistent!

Dust storms bad for asthma

Thoughts welcome!! Sooooo torn

When we lived in CA Central Valley my son had terrible lung problems - pneumonia after pneumonia. He hasn't had a single one since moving to Phoenix.
The dust storms are not bad. They're pretty much limited to monsoon season and they blow over fast. It's easy enough to stay out of them.

Oh, and we have the best lightning storms ever

JS we moved from the Sacramento area to AZ partly due to my son's asthma... Which he has not had any problems with here.... Small world eh?

I second about the awesome lightening shows during monsoon!!
