Hello Couchers. Couchies? Couch and Couchettes?

Just got back from shopping. I wanted some fancy jeans for Christmas but I needed to try them on. So we braved the mall and it wasn't as packed as I'd expected which is nice.

I'm feeling more even keeled even if I'm still a bit wobbly.

H and I have been taking turns holding the elderly cat every minute of the day, yesterday and today. She has been sleeping on my chest or side at night. I am tired but also restless and my whole body aches, but she is worth the discomfort. She continues to weaken but seems happy and not in any discomfort.

H has been especially amazing lately. Sharing more of his feelings -- telling me when he feels insecure, and therefore might get defensive.

I am really sad to find out Pixar are doing Finding Dory and a 4th (i think) Toy Story. I was under the impression that Pixar writers did not want to water-down their work by doing sequels. Disney must be more insistent.

LALALALALA. Reminding myself to stay out of areas that would do me no good nor benefit the greater collective at large.

I've been up since 5.00 (it's 5:39 now): I felt too sad and awful to finish my homework yesterday, so I'm doing it now. Just finished writing a letter to the newspaper as an assignment for my language's class - it's about an article in their paper about depression and treatment strategies. It only mentioned psychotherapy and meds - not ECT. So I 'sent' (I didn't actually sent it, just hand it to my teacher) an angry letter to them about that.

I wish animal ears were the problem. But alas - merely reminding myself that judicious staying away from thread and people who simply irritate me is the better part of valor.

And I got fur on my tongue when I tried it. Ack.

Hi, couch.

Worked at CVS yesterday and today. Treated myself to Carrabba's last night after work, and Chili's tonight (since we now close at 6 on weekends). When I was leaving Chili's I saw that they had a gift tree for a local charity that finds homes for neglected and abused children. I picked 2 of the cards to get what the kids wanted. One wanted a life-size lion from Toys'R'Us. So, I got him one. Another kid wanted legos (it specified Duplo type...I guess because he was 4 and might choke on regular legos). When I took that stuff back to Chili's I piked up one more card. This one was a kid who asked for clothes and shoes. That's sad for a kid to ask for things they need rather than want and can have fun with. I feel bad that clothes and shoes would make them happy for Christmas. Instead of getting the kids at school Christmas stuff (like I did at Halloween), I chose to spend the money on the gift tree kids instead. The giant lion plush cost over $100, but I wanted to brighten a kid's Christmas. I know how it feels to forgotten on Christmas and don't want any young kids to experience that. I may go back tomorrow and grab one more if it is still there. I saw one kid wanted a lava lamp. There were very few left on the tree, but most of them wanted things that I had no clue what they were, or I figured I could not find this time of the year. Another 4 year old wanted a Batman costume. A 5 year old wanted a Spiderman costume. I have no clue where to find costumes when it is not Halloween. The lava lamp shouldn't be too hard to find. I think Wal-Mart might have them. If not I will look at Toys-R-Us.

I was playing. I am also avoiding threads.

And you are not supposed to use your tongue. Just your lips. Sigh. Amateur earbiters. Shakes head sadly.

I knew you were playing - so was I.

Except for the staying out of threads and the fur thing. Seriously - there needs to be a youtube video explaining directions for the ear thing. The puppy endured it - but he was confused. So was I.

On a happy and non furry mouth note - I love the lump of coal thinking putty I got. It is black with some light flakes in it. It does not look creepy like some light colors can.

I have not nibbled on animal ears yet (I'm getting the feeling I'm in the minority around here on that ). But surely it is not much different from nibbling on a human ear...?

Yes it was. I am not a huge human ear nibbler either - but the dog ear was nothing at all like human ears.
And it did not taste like chicken either.

Those enduring the annual battle between cat and wrapping presents might enjoy this viral classic:

Squirrel, I saw lava lamps at Target recently. In case you can't find one at the places you mention, they might still have them.

Are lava lamps still around? Must be for the ultra-retro enthusiast.

The cats tail didn't twitch once in that video unless it was edited out.

Thanks. I looked online at Walmart and they had one that said the store near me had it in stock, so I did "site-to-store" so they pull it later on Monday and I can go and pick it up. It's already paid for, so I will just pick it up, take it across the street to Chili's and pull the tag off the tree.

Wow...it's after 1am. I should probably get to bed...I do have both school job and CVS job tomorrow. No homebound student though. His mom is taking him to a hotel for his 18th birthday because he loves hotels, so he will not be home.

Night, couch.

My mum has a lava lamp.

Hope all are well on (and off) the couch.
I'm feeling much better and much worse not enjoying new job at all, and anxious about possible ending with T this week. But friends and family a joy and that's the most important thing
