The scissors are safe-cats don't have thumbs.
Which is, in my opinion, the only part keeping them from becoming our furry overlords.
Along with how easily distracted they are by string.

Mouse tails would require a carving knife.

That was my first thought too - and I am only my usual sleep deprived self - not super sleep deprived or anything.

I love pavlova. <3 I love introducing it to my friends here in the U.S. The benefits of a globe-trotting childhood.

I was not a fan of it the time I tried it. It was made by some exchange students one day in a mad fit of them needing food from home.
They liked it. I did not see the point except that it was sweet. I did not like the texture.

It satisfied them which was the important thing, followed closely by how I did not have to do anything more than taste it.

It can be a bit tricky - the base (as I've always made it) is egg white and sugar and getting the egg white to fluff up properly can be tricky (or so it was for me). I think it's similar to a meringue? I'm not a chef or baker by any stretch, I had to go through at least two dozen eggs to get the hang of it LOL.

Then it has to cool completely - after that though it's relatively straightforward.

I'm good at making meringue, well usually not so sure how good I'd be at it right now because I can't think.... lol I'll have to give it a try.

I love whipping up meringue and cooking them in the oven as meringue cookies, my favorite! So it looks like pavlova is just one BIG meringue cookie...?

Hi couch. My current sup at work who is moving to a different dept soon just "voluntold" me for a new project, involving doing more coaching of my coworkers. I said yes and i sorta wanted to but sorta didn't, agh. This goes along i see with avoiding moving forward from therapy, I'm avoiding moving forward at work too. It wasn't enough i guess that i got the promotion he wants me to keep moving forward. I'm not even taking the new calls yet my training starts in 2 days. Maybe t was right a long time ago when she called me complacent. But i still want to know whats wrong with being comfortable? I'm not into climbing the corporate ladder at my age. But part of me is excited that he thinks i can do more. Chocolate. I need chocolate.

What's with the pavlova deficit in the US? It's quite a typical dessert in UK.
So, you make a meringue base, then top with whipped double cream and fruit, usually strawberries and raspberries.
It's popular at Christmas time to make four or five round meringue bases, each a bit smaller than the other (or larger, depending which way you work!). Then stack, filling in between with cream and fruit, and top with a lil pyramid swirl of cream and a white chocolate star on top, it looks (a bit) like a Christmas tree!
Thanks for this!

Fruit abuse.
(I don't like whipped cream or meringue). I do like fruit - usually just plain and not violated with cream or other adornment.

They are pretty looking.
