Poor kitty, her ears and toes are cold. She loves spending almost all her time outside, comes in for food and a cuddle, then right back out. Now that winter has set in, himself usually gives up his nomadic ways in favor of a warm spot inside.

Happy Thursday couch. I need more coffee. . .

Yes we are!! High five back! I think part of the reason that I'm really good at it, is that they can't see me. I know my job very well and my confidence comes through on every phone call, but if that same caller was in person instead, I would not sound nearly as confident. I'm getting better at my in-person skills, but not nearly as confident face-to-face as I am over the phone. Also - when we are limited to five minutes per call, that's a really small snippet of time in the grand scheme of things, and so there's no pressure to be charming or witty or anything like that - just handle the issue they're calling about and move along lol

**dramatically throws herself on the couch***

I went to the ENT just to get a new hearing aid.
She did an exam.
Apparently, I need a thyroid biopsy.
Sorry if tmi.

This world... I hate doctors Pre, that sucks, and hopefully it's just an inconvenience of having to go back one more time.

I know I'm late to the party but that Roomba analogy was fabulous. My Roomba would always suck up something it wasn't supposed to and run out of batteries under the couch where it was a pain to remove. The thing about a Roomba, is you have to pick up first for it to even work. And my relationship with Roomba was love hate. He could have worked so well for me, picking up all my stuff while I was out taking care of other things, but more often than not he was a disappointment. I'd come home and find him dead under the couch and have to clean myself. LOL!
Thanks for this!

I had to walk around after my Roomba and supervise it to make sure it didn't do anything wrong. Didn't seem worth it, I fired his little round self.

I feel oddly balanced today. I'm sure that will change once T gets done with me this afternoon...

That's my hope, too. I have had enough of doctors.
I'm grateful, though, that the ENT did a thorough exam. My appt. was just to get a new hearing aid. I'll have to remember to thank her for catching this, whatever it is.

I tried a scooba (floor washing rhoomba) and it terrified my oldest dog and the middle dog tried to kill it. The pup did not exist at the time.

I never heard of a scooba. My cats would not be amused by such a thing.

Hmm. You don't suppose there's a metaphorical dead Roomba under this metaphorical Couch, do you?

As I recall - the cat ignored the dogs and the machine.

Next couch name!

JS - yeah i do need to apologize to him for calling him a roomba. He never shows much reaction (its always robert redford as death in the twilight zone - kind of a gentle but firm smile) but there was definitely some seat shifting and facial twitching going on.

no.

So dang it all, I caved again and emailed t today. I'm seeing her Saturday. Why can't I just leave the woman alone between appointments?!
ETA: Perhaps I will talk about that then.

I just said the same thing to my T in an e-mail I sent tonight I told her I feel like an annoying leech, and I am so sorry. I e-mailed after our session last week, processing my feelings. THEN, I called her on Sunday because I could not get myself off the couch to go somewhere that she really wanted me to go. She called me back, and I was able to go. THEN, i e-mailed this week about scheduling about the snow (so i guess that is ok), but then e-mailed more tonight about how terrible i am doing, so UGH SO MANY E-MAILS.

I'M SORRY, T.

Still can't sleep. Feeling like there is no recourse for what happened at work today. And feeling like I need to find another job.

Hi couch. Just wanted to say hi-- I was hospitalized last Fri for an asthma attack that turned into a diabetic crisis as well. In ICU for 4 days. I had to call 911 on myself, that's a first. Have to say, for being the most non-spiritual person I know having a near death experience, white light and all, was interesting to say the least. No angels and stuff, but definitely a sense that we only experience a small slice of reality (my sister deadpans: "So you're saying we are living in the matrix…")

Sparky has been very good to me so at least this crisis has deepened our bond.
